Post-calciopoli days were detachment, especially those two 7 place finishes. That was not the Juve I fell in love with.
To the contrary, those were some of my fondest years and memories. We were bad, but I was 15-16 years old then and didn't understand why we weren't in a position to compete. Every year and every signing was new hope and clawing to get back. I wouldn't give those years for anything, they thought me what Juve is at heart and what it takes to come back, not just in football but life in general. Last year that I thoroughly enjoyed was 16/17. CR gave me a jolt last season up until Ajax which was the biggest disappointment in all these years. After Atletico I was convinced nothing was going to stop us...

I call and I raise with:
I became a Juve fan in early 1997 and seen us loose 5 finals. In the 1996 CL final between Ajax and Juventus I preferred Ajax.
Can you go back to preferring opponents in the CL, especially if it's a final? :D :baus: :b81:

Honestly, I feel a sense of detachment too. When I fell in love with Juve, we had Baggio. Then guys like Del Piero, Davids and Zidane made it so easy to like Juve. Lippi's swagger. The team was stylish and elegant on the ball - they were a joy to watch. Many quality players, an awesome coach, and a clear playing style. We also had a lot of hard working individuals who were extremely likable.

Juventus 2020: Sarri as coach :yuck: :inter: Don't like the man, and doubt I ever will. Also, it's not as if we're playing stellar champagne football that I can forgive his incompetence and inadequacies.

So many players I don't really identify with. The only ones I truly love/care about as players are Buffon, Chiellini, De Ligt (to a certain extent), Demiral, Bentancur, Cuadrado and Dybala.

Others I admire and respect, but not necessarily love are Higuain, Ronaldo, and Tek.

Guys like Bonucci and Pjanic I'm impartial too. I don't really like or dislike Black Bambii, Kebab Senior, or even useless duds like De Sciglio and Burnturdeski.

I don't think I hate any of our players per se tbh.

Interesting,

I am fond of Buffon, Tek, chiello, bonucci (fuck the haters Leo is boss), dybala and Higuan

Ronaldo is Ronaldo. I like him as long as he delivers for Juventus but will turn on him so fast...

I also like De Sciglio and Bernardeschi as meme material but their performances on the pitch leave a lot to he desired and keep them from top tier of fandom.

Both De Ligt and Demiral are potentials for my fandom. If Rabiot or Bentancur become world class i might consider them as well.

The escape goat, the Aguero saga, the Turkish invasion...

What a time those few years were :touched:
One of the best was that Celtic fan, I think it was even a girl iirc, that showed up and threw a tantrum after they got spanked by us with our “dark arts” and a clinical Matri. “She” even guaranteed they were going to smoke us in Turin in the return leg lol

I joined the forum for that tie against Celtic. :touched:

What is this "less attached, more attached" bullshit? We've survived Capello ffs!
Yeah, over the last 25 years Ive seen a lot of changes. Players come and go, coaches, management as well. With some I can find connection and feel more confident of the outcome, with other less so but if you support the club at the end of the day, you will stick around and keep watching games. If you are in it for specific player, the passion will fade away over time and you will move on...

Love how they showed up here uninvited, trash talking Juve and then played the victims after they lost as if this were a Celtic forum invaded by arrogant Juventus fans.

Tuz disrespected Celtic? To have thought Celtic had any chance in that tie was disrespectful to Juventus.

The Bald Fraud wont leave City for at least another 2 seasons imo.
He runs that place, he signs whoever he wants, for him everywhere else would be a step backwards, he will not like how we function as a club
