If Italy want to beat us they should just come out attacking at a quick tempo and basically force our inept defenders into making mistakes. Once world class teams get a goal we do not have enough skill or creativity to work our way back into a match with eleven oppoisition players behind the ball.

I still do think that Lippi's men will find it hard to score against U.S.A in the 1st 30min, I expect a tought and close game in the first half. And lot of things to change in the 2nd.

To be honest, despite Grosso's performance yesterday, I'd still keep him in and put Zambro on the right but I think Lippi will go with Zaccardo instead. I somehow dont see Oddo coming into the frame

i disagree, there is a lot on cost/on stake or how ever they say it, to play with brazil in the next round, or to avoid brazil ;)
I agree that avoiding a team like Brazil early in the tornament is always a good thing. BUT, if there are two teams who managed to qualify (which is the primary thing for any coach) they will play the third game more relaxed even if its a decider for first and second. MORE RELAXED does not mean play it as a friendly game, but you will notice that the player-to-player physical battle would be less. The desire to win will be there nonetheless.
It will be a different story if for an example Italy won against USA and Czech lost or drew against Ghana. Czech will play for qualification against italy which is totally different ball game than playing for leading a group.
Besides, Brazil should really think about avoiding a team like czech :D .. They really tough and a very balanced team in all their lines.

na brazil can handle the czech's, i just think the u.s.a played a horrible match making the czech look so much better then they are........but they are still a great team.

to be honest if the czech republic rise up to meet the same brazil that played tonight against croatia i think its not impossible that the czech can knock out brazil i admit brazil is a very very storng tea this world cup but they still have there weak pionts and specially at the back, they were set in peices today bec croatia were a bit unlucky, abnd lack pace, and options up front., i am convinced that teams like italy and czech rep can take on brazil.

as for italy vs usa, i think it wont be such a hard game but italyneed to take the gasme very seriously as usa will try to make a come back against italy specially after there poor image against the czech rep. i hope lippi fields in del piero.

will zambrotta and gattuso be able to make it to this one??
