Me liking After Hours that much probably has a lot to do with when I first saw it, I think. Lower expectations, a Scorsese movie without gangsters, no De Niro, etc. The effect could very well have been a lot different had I discovered it, for example, yesterday.
Saw The King Of Comedy as well. Another great one, but I can't shake the feeling that the central performance is actually better than the movie itself, not unlike Raging Bull (Does that even make sense?). De Niro used to be so brilliant.
