If the club is playing hardball, I hope they've at least sounded out some worthy replacement. Apart from Klopp or Montella, there isn't much out there.

Either World Cup or Euro, you weren't watching closely. 4-3-1-2 or 4-4-1-1

Conte is still caught in the transition period of Serie A. IMO, it's clear we have to become more like the Spanish league, more technical, more creativity... but the power game still works in the league. Problem is we'll never match the athleticism of Germany/England so it breaks down in CL...

    Antonio Conte

Yes that what happens in tournament/cup play. It's not like league and Mancini style belief 'Oh we're not ready for CL, look at so and so'. Capello did f-all in CL with a great team and Mou couldn't win with Chelsea. There's always going to be a small gap between Juventus and the Oil teams so...

 If teams like Porto, Marseille, Dortmund, Liverpool can pull out CL's, it's not an impossible dream. Hell, even with our super dynasty, we only won 1, so you don't go throwing away opportunities when they present themselves because you don't have Real Madrid's roster.

    Antonio Conte

I hope he's just 'playing dead' as mind games toward Bayern. Serie A is already wrapped up... this CL game is everything right now. I won't be upset to go out, but It will be sad if they just go through the motions. I'd be shocked if he isn't running through some more attacking formations in...

Do you think Conte would try it? It's not like the Italian players aren't used to it. A more defensive diamond would be - Pogba-Pirlo-Asamoah Marchisio I don't see what else he can do really.

That 6 month ban had to of messed him up. Every televised game made it look like he was a cheat for matchfixing. No doubt he'll get back in control soon enough.

Well we do have the National team's LWB from the Euros. Can't be any worse than the others.

Do you watch much of Barca, Madrid, Bayern play week in week out? They don't spend a game sending in rubbish crosses to Gio and then saying he should've scored because the GK saved it... or claim the opposing GK is playing the 'game of his life' every week lol.

 We;re certainly not creating the amount of golden chances as other elite teams.

Isla, Marrone, Giac, Pepe, Padoin + Verrati? Pogba? Yeah I know we were unbeaten but last year but that was work in progress. All the formations we used still had some weakness + no CL to test.

Ok anyone thinking 4-3-1-2 for Juve next season? With Vidal playing the Montolivo style trequartista and Asamoah - Pirlo - Marchisio bossing the midfield. It's probably the best way to get all our best players on the park at the same time plus we've got depth. Vucinic/Gio- ?? Vidal...

    Antonio Conte

"These things have been going on for a lifetime and everyone – I repeat, everyone – has too much to lose in order to really change." Let's hope he's right and no-one else comes forward because this s*** is rife in Italy. The guy's a hypocrite though because he's allowed to clear his conscience...

    Antonio Conte

He should really get the forwards to step up and take the pens. Not that Vidal wouldn't be good, but forwards get more confidence out of it... plus it's their job.

I'd say if we had an attack that was at least comparable to the top Euro teams, the game would've been 4-1 easy. Our strikers are basically just heart players.

    Antonio Conte

Yeah that too. Thing is, it will be an even bigger issue if we get a couple WC attackers. These types of players are always precocious and need to be treated encouraged more.

I agree he let Conte down, but a coach like Mourinho would make him feel like the door is still open (eg. Benzema) Where as Krasic felt like he was unfairly frozen out. But i'm sure Conte will learn from experience as a good coach does.
