Nope, there are never 3rd place matches in the European Championships. In the World Cup, yes, but not in the Euros :)

Dammit, come on Croatia! :fero: I'm watching the Switzerland-France game... Les Bleus started very well with Pires in particular looking lively, but the Swiss have come back into the game and have pressured Barthez' goal alot since the goal. Henry really isn't having a good tournament...

Either Portugal, Spain or Greece HAVE to go out so that's good news for Italy granted that they qualify.

Agreed. Although they weren't magical it was Zizou's ability to stay cool under such pressure that won me over again. Seeing Beckham's penalty saved was one thing, but the fact that both goals came in stoppage time when the champions were minutes away from defeat made those two goals incredible.

I know. He wasn't brilliant today, infact he was far from it, but he still managed to show some of his class and masterful technique. The English did very well to limit him and Henry, but his goals were a reminder to the world that he's a figure in footballing history.

Just a few opinionated comments: - Henry disappointed me. - Owen sucked. - Zidane is still the best player in the world. - Rooney was very good, but should've squared for Vassell instead of winning the penalty, although I'm probably only saying this because Beckham missed. - Becks sucked...

Zidane may not be a hero to everyone, but he's undoubtedly the best player in the world and of my generation so all hail Zizou says I.

Amazing. Nothing short of amazing. I was in a sports bar and the atmosphere was phenomenal. Right now I'm so hoarse that I can't talk properly. When Becks missed the peno and when Zizou scored his goals I went wild. That was one of the best footballing experiences I've ever had and arguably the...

I just saw the highlights from yesterday's games and Karagounis' strike was a very good one. For Spain, Vicente seemed inspired and Valeron's goal was cooly taken. PS. Check Fernando Torres' hair :D

It's weird if you like England, but if you think that they are heavily overrated like I do, you wouldn't be able to stand waking up in the morning to see on the front page of the news paper and on all of the sporting websites 'Becks leads England to emphatic victory' etc, etc.
