What is a really good thriller? With a good storyline?

Lawless is great.. Good story and great acting. It is like Public Enemies only better.

I'm just after watching this it is definatly worth checking out. It is a true story that you would find very hard to be realistic if it was ficton.

Taxi Driver by a mile. Full Metal Jacket is good as well even though it's not one of my favorite Kubrick films. Haven't seen Lawless yet.

Goodfellas, I suppose, but I'm a huge Scorsese nerd so I love pretty much everything he has ever done.

Hmm, good question. I still need to watch some important Kubrick films (especially Barry Lyndon and Paths of Glory), but it's between 2001 and A Clockwork Orange. A Clockwork Orange is by far the most enjoyable one to watch though.

Didn't see that one coming . Mine is Raging Bull, I'm inclined to rate Goodfellas on par with The Departed.

Well, Raging Bull is up there as well. De Niro's perfomance in Raging Bull is the best acting perfomance I've seen to this date.

Very difficult to come up with a single answer. Think it would be one of Taxi Driver, After Hours or Goodfellas for Scorsese. And Dr Strangelove, Full Metal Jacket or The Killing for Kubrick.
Kubrick had a very inconsistent output, for my liking, unlike Scorese. Barry Lyndon, for example, almost bored me to death. Not a fan of 2001 either. And the less said about Eyes Wide Shut, the better.
