Yes, but I actually thought José Padilha was ultimately stronger in his storytelling on Bus 174 than either of the great Tropa de Elite flicks. And that movie wasn't as formulaic in the way that the awesome City of God created as a halo effect.
I havent seen Bus 174, so thats good to hear he has done something even better.

Yeah the Bus was really good. City of God was amazing.

But yeah, Brazilian cinema is now basically Cinemafavella.

Saw the Host, nice little sensitive movie (bit of hippy sci fi story), it will get flamed and destroyed alot in reviews/box office prolly, but I liked the tone of it. Plus, it got Saoirse Ronan

Thats why I didnt read the book (though all my siblings like it, saw this film with them), watched the movie, which is per typical ofcourse worse then the book (they allways are, but way easier to put up with a mediocre film then a mediocre book). It dragged on in middle parts and also didnt develop the story much, but liked the tone and message of it (acceptance). John Hurt was pretty damn good in it.

Meh, it was good, very good but from all the hype i expected more. Don't get me wrong, Di Caprio and Waltz's performances were SUPERB, the latter in special. Everything happened too fast, i'd love to have seen more of Django and the Doctor working together as bounty hunters before they went to Candyland. How he became the fast gun in the west and blah blah...One day he was a slave, and then a professional assassin. Just like that.

I give it a 7.8.
