They are all so scared about potentially being relegated, which could happen to a lot of these teams from one season to the next. The money is such in the Premier League that if you're not in it you are nowhere, they just want to be part of the league, it's that sad.

I doubt it, it wouldn't tie in with his years old decree about Marotta.

Mailand is more appropriate, per prescritti.

You should get half as many points for playing in the EL as the CL, or 0.75.

Serie A is in big trouble next season, when they lose that 05-06 season. They need a 5 point swing over Germany, I can't see it, especially as the EL still means little for most.

To answer bianconero, I think with a good coach next season we can aim higher than top 4. That also depends on the 'revolution'.

I bet the Germans are sweating it now :D To be fair, if Bayern beat Inter then that is deserved. Italy has been self-destructing for too long and shouldn't be in this position.

Unfortunately Zamora is out for Fulham, but they are good at home. Like I said already, Inter winning and Hamburg losing is not a big problem, but both games will be very marginal.

Sure. It decreases competition and breeds mediocrity. Those leagues are absolutely better for having those strong teams in there, and not because people compare CL results to league strength. Calciopoli was a disaster for the league, but then it's not a new thing in Italy to cut off your nose to...

The decline being the lack of the 4th CL place? It would only have lasted for another couple of seasons, because clubs were still not fielding strong sides in the UEFA Cup. So my answer is no, but it might not have made a significant difference to the coefficients in the long run. Sure, rather...

In a worst case scenario, but football goes in cycles and Serie A is only barely trying to emerge from the crisis that was 2006. Teams really need to start taking the Europa League seriously though, the German sides find a balance, even if the Bundesliga doesn't quite have the all-importance...

That's exactly right. The way they do things is right. I don't look at the Bundesliga and think the teams are the same level like-for-like but if it continues it will be that way. They are financially stronger all-round, benefitted by the stronger German economy of course, but also by the whole...

2006 and fielding reserve sides in the UEFA Cup didn't help.
