This will be a huge precedent. This opens the doors for all the provinces of the world to separate themselves. Hell Croatia could be dissected in a number of parts.. It's a historical Serbian province, it's Serbian land but the people there are not Serb, the very big majority, and that has to stand for something. But which is more important, history or the people? One things for sure, this isn't to be decided by a third side(USA).
I'm completelly evenhearted about this and I won't congratulate anyone but one thing's for sure, that ever-so-popular Serb mentality won't be surpressed for too long. A war is due IMHO.

in all honesty vlatko i hope there is no more war bec i think enough is enough. the amount of wars that toke place in the balkan is just heart breaking. when will u guys ever live in peace and look forward to building a brighter future for yr selves.
@dule: bro i understand how u feel but its not arif or any otehr memebers fault, neither should u be held resposible for all this after all u guys ( civilians) had nothing to do with the number of ethical groups nor did u have an opinion in the wars that occured. i think u guys should all look to the future and wish for the best for all yr countries in the region.
You must look at it from a different angle. Because from your point of view we'll have 1000 new states in the world.
Look at Kosovo as it was - part of Serbia.
So Kosovo, Vojvodina, Sumadija etc they all make the state called Serbia. The southwest part of Serbia is inhabitted by Albanians mostly. And now these Albanians get the right to form an independent state only because they are the majority in one part of Serbia.
Do you know what this means ?
Mexicans are a majority in the US territories bordering Mexico. No matter how many of them are there, 100 000, 500 000, 5 million. Now only because they are majority there does it mean that it's not US land and the Mexicans there have all the rights to ask for independence ?

Do the 900 000 Germans living there make this autonomous province non-Italian land ?

I can see people in Quebec wanting to form their own "French Canada," but I don't know about Mexicans living in Southern States in the US. If they made their own country out of New Mexico for instance they wouldn't be able to benefit from our economy and jobs, which is why they came here in the first place. Wouldn't make much sense for them to try and form a new nation. We wouldn't let that happen anyway.

imagine 100 million Chinese, immigrating in San Francisco and ask for the independence of China town, in a 100 years from now, claiming that they have the majority in the region
and then a third country runs in, nukes the whole country, until the US are back in the stone age...
On the other hand, it was impossible to remove the population of Albanian Kosovars from there, but i dont believe that there was no other way to solve this matter of civil rights in a civilized matter. (medieval ages are behind us, arent they?? even in Balkans!!)

US Russia and EU have the power to impose any government they wish,
if the only problem was Milosevic, a single sniper could do the job!

I dont know all the details and i cant be really objective here, my opinion is that the real fault is on US hands, our allies, not Albanian or Serbian and for that i m very sorry, as a EU citizen and US ally, i feel the need to apologize,
to every part implicated, for their mess.

Because almost very single country in the world has ethnic groups and these ethnic groups are usually concentrated in the same area of the particular country.
