Come on Dule, stop it, it won't do you any good. You're a good guy, let those here who wanna be happy about it, be happy about it. You calling them idiots won't change a thing apart from you getting banned and we both know you don't want that. Fighting about it over the internet is pointless and immature. I can imagine it's frustrating but try and avoid this thread and unnecessary conflict.

And you hate Kosovo so your opinion could be wrong too.
My opinion is not wrong and I am not saying it because I think I am smartest guy over here.I do not hate Kosovo.I don`t hate Serbian`s land.I can just hate the ones who took it from us.

You called him an idiot straightforward. He may or may not be one, I don't know, but that's insulting and the kind of thing to get you banned. And will calling two Albanians on this forum retards or idiots make you feel better? It won't, so let it go.

As a Croat someone may say i'm not neutral but Dule knows me and he knows i'm neutral regarding this issue.

Fine :

Kosovo was Serbian land, or better - inhabited by Serbs, since the time Serbs migrated to the Balkans (5th-6th century). Kosovo is the first Serbian independent teritory where the Serbs formed their kingdom.
It was almost 100% inhabited by Serbs.

Then the Turks came to the Balkans and just like most of the Balkan, Kosovo became a part of the Ottoman Empire. (14th century)

But in 1690 the Serbs rebelled against the Turks and in order to prevent his people from being massacred the patriarch Arseniye with 90 000 Serbs migrated to the North.
Since not more than 200 000 people lived in Kosovo and since half of the population was gone, the Turks started inhabiting muslims there, namely Albanians who never lived in Kosovo before this.
Now there were still more Serbs than Albanians but as times passed the Albanians became a majority and in 20th century they were around 70-80% of the population there.

When Serbia was bombed in 1999 and NATO and USA sent their soldiers to Kosovo and many Serbs had to leave the teritorry, Albanians became a huge majority there.

Now they got independence, even though it must be said that this brakes every single international law because Kosovo is recognized as part of Serbia in the UN and everywhere else.

Now, if Kosovo gets independence, Basque can also ask for independence from Spain because it's the same case. Some Italian northern provinces can also ask independence from Italy. Northern Ireland can ask independence from England (Britain) and in some 30 years if the Mexicans become a majority in New Mexico they can freely ask for independence and use Kosovo as an example.

It's a very tricky situation. Kosovo is a huge part of Serbian history. Their kings were born and ruled from there. The greatest battle in their history took place there.

Kosovo is very (VERY !!) rich with minerals and other mines. the USA couldn't control this if Kosovo was Serbian because Serbia is Russia's historical partner. Now the USA controls this.
Also, we get another Israel in the Balkans this way.

In other words, the situation is similar to Israel just that Serbians and the other Christian neighbours are in the skin of the Middle East Arabs while Albanians are the Jews.
True that! Add to these Russia, they were the first to reject, you know how many countries could come out of Russia, How will Iraq react to this btw? They are a Muslim country and have sympathy for Kosovo, but they also has the same problem with Kurds!

Where is America?
They are in front of their TVs enjoying the show and having pop corn and doing the seven aka :seven:

If that makes you feel better, then ok.

But the thing is, anyone can whine about this whole issue, but we're independent now, end of story.

Unbelievable how much the Balkans have been carved out into new states.

Montenegro a little over a year ago, and now Kosovo. Are there any other "pending" countries there?

First off, congratz to all Kosovars- Albanians & Serb ethnicities together.

Secondly, I can't help but sympathise with the Serbians in Belgrade who seem to notice their country shrinking more and more!!

Anyway, I don't know much about the Albanian-Serb history of Kosovo (I know that you even argue about Kosova or -vo....on the XT forums there was a huge quarrel about it a long time ago!!)

How many other "pending countries" are there so far?

    Palestine (1967 borders)
    Kurdistan
Chechnya (Dagestan?) / North-South Ossetia (I think there's some sort of dispute there not sure if it's related to Chechnya)
    Kashmir
    Karabagh-Agdam
Transnistria (that would be sandwiched between Moldova and Romania)
Abkhazia (a distinct ethnic group that live in Georgia)
    Tibet

I'm sure I missed out a million others....especially if we analyse Africa, alone!

Well, in Albanian it's Kosova. In other languages it's Kosovo.

Joseph Grieboski: Kosovo independence proclamation illegal

Recognition of Kosovo’s independence by the international community will establish a dangerous precedent throughout the world.

“Proclamation of Kosovo’s independence is illegal. It’s a violation of the international law, UN regulations and Resolution 1244 (which clearly determines Kosovo as part of Serbia), and creates a dangerous precedent for secession of other territories, including Iraqi Kurdistan,” said Joseph K. Grieboski, President of the Nobel Peace Prize-nominated Institute on Religion and Public Policy,

“This move can provoke international destabilization,” he said.

“Recognition of Kosovo’s independence by the international community will establish a precedent for Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Nagorno Karabkah, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Tibet and Taiwan, which will demand recognition,” he said, RIA Novosti reports.

The Kosovo parliament proclaimed independence on Sunday. Serbia described the move as a forceful and unilateral division of its territory.
