I watched the Wings game last night, Marty, and both Samuelsson and Franzen had fantastic games, especially the former. If I remember correctly Mikael had four points including two goals, and Franzen added an empty-netter to give us our 7th of the game.
Supposedly Nick Lidstrom reccomended Samuelsson to our GM Holland as a very underated player, and before this season the man only scored 10 goals in a season...now he already has 11 this season alone. Mikael has been a great find for us because I do not think many clubs were going to give him a chance...funny how whenever these fringe players come to Detroit they start lighting up the scoreboard.
Franzen has been very good thus far, especially defensively, and looks like he will be Kris Draper's successor at the club for the way he can kill penalties. Another great pickup by our scouting department
Andreas Lilja has not impressed me that much though and tends to make too many mistakes defensively. Once Niklas Kronwall recovers from injury he will probably take either his place or Brett Lebda's. And hey Marty, another Swede.
Daniel Alfredsson is simply amazing...has some of the best technique in today's game. Forsberg is far and away the best passer in the NHL and most complete player, but that is nothing new.
