Nah I didn't get to see it, however sounds like it was simply amazing. Crosby and Ovechkin are both incredible youngsters and are leaders in scoring albeit in their rookie season.

Big game for Mikael Samuelsson in Detroit last night I read on the news, there are quite a few Swedes there actually: Nicklas Lidström, Andreas Lilja, Tomas Holmström, Mikael Samuelsson, Henrik Zetterberg and Johan Franzén. Of those Zetterberg is by favorite, he's quite skilled. :)

But I don't follow NHL very closely, though I saw a Flyers game on Canal+ the other week, Peter Forsberg being another Swede that's doing good. And Daniel Alfredsson in Ottawa is having a big season so far as well.

Haven't seen Crosby and Ovechkin but I've read a lot about them, they sound pretty amazing. :)

I watched the Wings game last night, Marty, and both Samuelsson and Franzen had fantastic games, especially the former. If I remember correctly Mikael had four points including two goals, and Franzen added an empty-netter to give us our 7th of the game.

Supposedly Nick Lidstrom reccomended Samuelsson to our GM Holland as a very underated player, and before this season the man only scored 10 goals in a season...now he already has 11 this season alone. Mikael has been a great find for us because I do not think many clubs were going to give him a chance...funny how whenever these fringe players come to Detroit they start lighting up the scoreboard.

Franzen has been very good thus far, especially defensively, and looks like he will be Kris Draper's successor at the club for the way he can kill penalties. Another great pickup by our scouting department

Andreas Lilja has not impressed me that much though and tends to make too many mistakes defensively. Once Niklas Kronwall recovers from injury he will probably take either his place or Brett Lebda's. And hey Marty, another Swede. ;)

Daniel Alfredsson is simply amazing...has some of the best technique in today's game. Forsberg is far and away the best passer in the NHL and most complete player, but that is nothing new.

My favorite Western team is Detroit and my favorite Eastern team is Toronto. It has been like that since 91 when I got my first hockey-cards. The first Swede I got in a hockeycard-package was Lidström so that is why I'm a fan of Detroit. My dad lived in Toronto a couple of times and has bought me a puck, stick, t-shirt, jersey & pin so I'm pretty bond with them. And I'm happy for the swedes, they are playing really good thus far.

God, I hate the Red Wings, Andy. Not as much as I hate the Bruins, though. AT least I RESPECT the Red Wings.

I just felt the utter need to tell you that before I go out clubbing in a half hour.:weee:

Well you either hate the Red Wings or love 'em, there is no such thing as in between.

I think you should also abandon your Habs and put that big B closer to your heart. ;)

    :D True that Burke. :weee:

But my boys have been slacking these past two weeks. We just lost to the Ducks last night and have lost 5 games out of 6...not very good form at all, unfortunately.

Habs got robbed by the damn ref tonight even if they sucked in the 1st period. Leafs cry/complain about the refs and now they get all the calls. BS!!!
