I’ve seen Gretzky fedorov Sid lindros Oates hull sacic malkin

Connor is truly out of this world. Privilege to see another great in my lifetime
I don't think anyone will argue that Gretzky is the "best" player. His resume is unmatched.

But Mario Lemieux is still the greatest pure talent I've ever seen.

When you do a "Mount Rushmore" of hockey, Gretzky, Lemieux, and Bobby Orr are 3 locks that will never leave. And with no offense to all timers like Ovechkin and Gordie Howe, who are right there in the mix, the debate 10-15 years from now between McDavid and Crosby for that 4th spot will be interesting.

I live in Edmonton, I've been living in Edmonton for a while now. I don't watch hockey. However I am very aware of post finals crashouts. I moved to Edmonton a couple of years after they lost a conference final and they ended up trashing Whyte Ave (lots of bars in that area, university of alberta area), like full on riots and burning and what not. That was in 06 or 05 i'm not sure, all i know is i missed out.

Then i've heard about Vancouver's crash out, seen cop cars burning and was like gaddamn wish i was there :lion:

Then last year Oilers made it to the finals, it's game 7. Me and a group of friends (none of us watch hockey), literally went out for one of two reasons : the turn up (celebrations, party) or the crash out. I was obviously rooting for a loss and a gigantic crash out, really thought I'd get to witness in person these moments of city wide crash outs :euromax:

they loss but they didn't crash out, motherfuckers weren't even mad, there was all that police presence for nothing. i was so genuinely disappointed, i was like are you guys gonna accept dis mayne :madmax: and they did unfortunately

hopefully they'll lose the finals this year and crash out, i don't think they can handle back to back finals loss:max:

Your Canadians drafted LJ Mooney in the 4th round.

2 of my nephews are stud youth hockey players that play for the Penguins Elite program in Pittsburgh that he played for, so I've known about this kid since he was about 12 or 13 (plus he's cousins with Logan Cooley, from that same program)

He was projected as a future 1st round growing up, but he just never grew.

It'll be interesting to see if he can overcome his lack of size. I think he's literally like 5'6, 150 pounds right now ---- but he's scrappy with a lot of fight, and unbelievably skilled.

The Penguins recent draft picks were in Pittsburgh yesterday for media crap and upcoming rookie camp -- Crosby made an appearance.

My nephews were in the facility for practice and bumped into Crosby in the cafeteria area and got pics with him.

it's crazy how small the hockey community is, and who you get to meet and be around regularly.

That was probably the least exciting day 1 of free agency that I can remember in my life. Everything happened in the days leading up.

We need some random trades out of nowhere or something

Although I'm a lapsed Pens follower I feel drawn to the new Mammoth team, with the Jazz ties. They seem to have a good future with the young players they have (on the roster and draft stock), plus more future picks. Watching with interest...
