Ahh thanks Erik, what's your source?

I like the idea of points gathered solely against the teams in question system; they use that in the CL and it's a good measure of a team's performances

    In order of importance:

    Goal difference
    Goals scored
    Goals conceded
Points gathered solely against the teams in question

they dont have to count the goals conceded... basically if 3 teams have the same goal difference and the same goal scored , the would have the same goal conceded..;)

I still wanna know about that damn coin-toss.

I wonder if it's ever been used before, and under what circumstances

Don't ask me, I just got it off a UEFA forum.

I think the UEFA Champions League Final would be slightly more competitive than your local 5-a-side competition :D

Just imagine the final score report

Juventus 0-0 AC Milan (After 90 minutes)
Juventus 0-0 AC Milan (After 120 minutes)

Juventus win (Del Piero called heads)

Actually, the following COULD (theoretically) happen:

Juventus 0-0 AC Milan (after 90 minutes)
Juventus 0-0 AC Milan (After 120 minutes)
Juventus 0-0 AC Milan (After 10 penalties)
Juventus 0-0 AC Milan (After 10 sudden death penalties)

Juventus win (Del Piero called heads)

Well ok, maybe not a mere 10 sudden death penalties but you catch the drift :D
Yeah, maybe after each fan in the stadium takes a penalty for their team

We'll just have to count on the fat Rossonero with glasses having his turn at goalkeeping by then :D

That sounds a bit harsh, not giving credit to teams for having a strong defence. Just say team A scores 50 goals and concedes 20. Does that make them a better team than team B who score 30 goals and concede none?
Trust a Serie A fan to say that. :D Anything that encourages attacking football is good. Football is entertainment as much as it is sport.

You too? You know, RTL5 (a TV channel over here) broadcasts the EPL and they have promised the audience a live match every sunday afternoon.

Except when Liverpool plays, then we get pool or golf :howler:

More like 200, when they can't even summon the strength to take another penalty.. :D

But actually, it's rough on the goalkeepers. In an infinite penalty shootout, you shoot once and rest for 21 shots, the keepers however.. :D
