The 23-year-old forward is one of the brightest young talents in Italy, however with the likes of David Trezeguet, Alessandro Del Piero and Vincenzo Iaquinta around, he barely played in the opening weeks of the season.
The Neapolitan has gradually forced his way into the reckoning though and since October has been featuring regularly.
“It was tough at the start,” Palladino admitted. “After promotion from Serie B there was increased competition at Juve.
“Sadly we couldn’t count on having the extra midweek games in Europe either, so it was inevitable that there would be less space in the side.”
Palladino has been linked with a move to Premiership leaders Arsenal, with their manager Arsene Wenger said to be a huge admirer.
However the skilful frontman, who made his Azzurri debut in November against the Faroe Islands, maintains that he wants to remain at the club that he supports.
“First and foremost I am a Juventus fan and whatever the sacrifice I want to see the Old Lady thrive at the top level,” he explained.
“Slowly but surely I have worked quietly to earn Claudio Ranieri’s trust and to be chosen for the national team is a testament to my efforts in Serie A.
“It was an enormous source of satisfaction, even if I returned to the bench before the winter break.”
