The 23-year-old forward is one of the brightest young talents in Italy, however with the likes of David Trezeguet, Alessandro Del Piero and Vincenzo Iaquinta around, he barely played in the opening weeks of the season.

The Neapolitan has gradually forced his way into the reckoning though and since October has been featuring regularly.

“It was tough at the start,” Palladino admitted. “After promotion from Serie B there was increased competition at Juve.

“Sadly we couldn’t count on having the extra midweek games in Europe either, so it was inevitable that there would be less space in the side.”

Palladino has been linked with a move to Premiership leaders Arsenal, with their manager Arsene Wenger said to be a huge admirer.

However the skilful frontman, who made his Azzurri debut in November against the Faroe Islands, maintains that he wants to remain at the club that he supports.

“First and foremost I am a Juventus fan and whatever the sacrifice I want to see the Old Lady thrive at the top level,” he explained.

“Slowly but surely I have worked quietly to earn Claudio Ranieri’s trust and to be chosen for the national team is a testament to my efforts in Serie A.

“It was an enormous source of satisfaction, even if I returned to the bench before the winter break.”

i think hes a very good player, a star for the future ? i dont know but certainly would be a very useful one. Not totally relying on him for the future but one of those players that could give you a good number games a season.

Roma Linked With Juve's Palladino

AS Roma have become the latest side to be linked with a move for Raffaele Palladino...

zoom - galleria The unsettled attacking midfielder is said to be under the watchful eye of capital club AS Roma.

Controcampo contends that the player, whose agents are growing increasingly frustrated by a lack of new contract news from the Old Lady, could move on if he's not offered a contract extension.

Palladino's current deal expires in 2010, with talk of an extension so far proving to be premature. Earlier it was felt that Palladino would sign on for a further two years in Turin, but this is taking longer than expected.

Agent Beppe Bozzi holds out hope of Palladino staying at Juve, as is his preferred option, but would not rule out a move to another club, preferably in Italy.

Roma are perhaps the most high-profile of all sides to be linked with the 23-year-old, and thus may be closest to landing him.

The Mugnano-born attacker has one cap for Italy.

Or Udinese for Zapata.. might as well throw in Marchioni and Almiron while wer at it to keep the price down!

I have a feeling though that Palla could end up in milan and that they would convert him into a world class player, just as they did with Pirlo.
