Ok, let's do this and get everything out of me.
I watched Steppenwolf (1974) and here's my short review. Those who didn't read the book should simply stay away from it as far as possible simply because you wouldn't understand much as too many parts were left one and many, many other reasons. Oh God so many reasons... Those who did read it, well, go watch it if you want to be disappointed until the point when you just crying. Not only they butchered the whole book but they simply went full retard and did everything in the worst possible way. First off, they avoided majority of great parts and dialogs. Secondly, the ones they picked were done like Ranieri coached them. Thirdly, oh-my-God, the acting. That acting. I can't stress out how bad that was. The main character was like some random guy who couldn't pull off Harry at all. Hermine, who was supposed to be one of the most powerful, confident characters was acted by sell little slut who was clumsy and was pure shit, just like Molinaro. Pablo, who's supposed to be charming, was made out to be a little disgusting faggot. I'm going to ignore the other lesser roles, but as you can imagine -- they are all very much shit as it gets. The Goethe part, the dancing part (oh GOD, the dancing... it was soooooo bad that I have no words to describe pain that destroy both my brain and eyes), the acting, the rooms part, the ending -- it was done so bad -- that I'm so pissed that I keep forgetting what I'm writing right now.
Fred Haines, may you RIP, but holy shit what you've done to the cinema and Hermann Hesse.
The first thing I did after it was done was to go to imdb and give it 1. I'm sad 0 doesn't exist there.
Oh
my
God.
