I must confess, I'm not a fan of Glengarry Glen Ross. I really cannot stand Mamet's work. I understand it has its qualities... but it's just not for me, as I found the film stultifying and the writing poor, which I can understand, as Mamet wrote it, and writing has never been a strongpoint for that man in my opinion. Even the acting wasn't much of above average, regardless of all the "talent" in it.

Casablanca - Brilliant.

Grave of the Fireflies - ... :sigh:
What did you think of this film? It's definitely a favourite of mine for anime...

It was brilliant, definitely one of the best out there.

It's just that I had no idea what was it about. I was kinda bumped when I started watching and I didn't expect any of that. It was depressing as hell, it killed me lol.

I think it was pretty weird how I felt connected with the characters even if it's anime. I don't think I've ever noticed such connection, even between those two. It felt like living the war and it even reminded me of 1999 when US dropped bombs on us. Definitely amazing.

You blokes are legitimate psychos if you think that was a good flick. Poor attempts at quirky humour. Characters had no depth. Baptista and that tree pretty much contributed nothing but annoying phrases throughout. The villain... what was he about? He lacked substance and looked like he was out of a new Power Rangers episode. The film just looked cheap all round. There weren't any tits.

Compared to the recent Batman trilogy, Watchmen or any X-Men movies it looked terribly poxy and the story was shallow, the acting, cheesy.

That is where you went wrong; your expectations. There wasn't supposed to be a dark element to this flick, or a complex story-line. This is a movie that doesn't take itself seriously. The quirky humor, 70s music, and cheesy elements were all part and parcel of what made it different, and a success.

I just re-watched We Are Marshall. I didn't particularly enjoy the emphasis on winning, considering that Marshall hadn't posted a winning record since 64 (and wouldn't again until 84), but Mcconaughey's acting was refreshing.

Ok, let's do this and get everything out of me.

I watched Steppenwolf (1974) and here's my short review. Those who didn't read the book should simply stay away from it as far as possible simply because you wouldn't understand much as too many parts were left one and many, many other reasons. Oh God so many reasons... Those who did read it, well, go watch it if you want to be disappointed until the point when you just crying. Not only they butchered the whole book but they simply went full retard and did everything in the worst possible way. First off, they avoided majority of great parts and dialogs. Secondly, the ones they picked were done like Ranieri coached them. Thirdly, oh-my-God, the acting. That acting. I can't stress out how bad that was. The main character was like some random guy who couldn't pull off Harry at all. Hermine, who was supposed to be one of the most powerful, confident characters was acted by sell little slut who was clumsy and was pure shit, just like Molinaro. Pablo, who's supposed to be charming, was made out to be a little disgusting faggot. I'm going to ignore the other lesser roles, but as you can imagine -- they are all very much shit as it gets. The Goethe part, the dancing part (oh GOD, the dancing... it was soooooo bad that I have no words to describe pain that destroy both my brain and eyes), the acting, the rooms part, the ending -- it was done so bad -- that I'm so pissed that I keep forgetting what I'm writing right now.

Fred Haines, may you RIP, but holy shit what you've done to the cinema and Hermann Hesse.

The first thing I did after it was done was to go to imdb and give it 1. I'm sad 0 doesn't exist there.

Oh
my
God.

I lets just say I watched 3 films today, Lucy on cinema, and then Think like a man 1 and 2 after another, and Lucy was by far the worst entertainment tonight.

Meh, it's football, it's always about winning. It's the culture in that part of the state.

Cloud Atlas - Thought it was a deep and a wonderful movie. I went to check the reviews afterwards, critics are divided as some call it a masterpiece and others seem to hate it for no apparent reason!

I highly recommend it for those who've never seen it before.

It's not awful as some claim, though. I enjoyed it. There were a lot of bright ideas and the performances were great.

It's a must-watch.

Really poor relative to the book. I'm not much of a fan of the Wachowski's and Twyker though.
