You can't really compare Iron Man and Dark Knight much. Yes they are both superhero movies but apart from that they are very different. The Dark Knight being dark (lol) and realistic isn't as fun to watch, I agree. Iron Man has a lot of 'wow' and 'cool' moments. I love both though.

Dark Knight rises wasn't that good imo, probably the worst of the trilogy.

Dark Knight >> BB > DKR

If Heath Ledger wasn't so good in DK then BB would probably be better.

thats basically saying im too dumb to fully appreciate batman so i ll just stick with mindless ironman
Ouch! You never hold back, do you? :D

Personally, I never understood what was so great about Iron Man. Sure, the first is watchable but that's about it. It must be me though, since I didn't care for The Avengers at all either. Yes, I'm that guy.
Hollywood's addiction with these superhero comics has gone too far, if you ask me.

Superhero comics geek speaking, big fan of RDJRs depiction of Tony, snarky and simple fun fare (the first one), best of the marvel movies. But in no way does it compare to Batman trilogy, they are simply in another league, and are two movie series that try for different things so no need to compare IMO. Plus Batman movies kinda transcend the superhero genre, and in overall one the better movies of their time.

The Avengers was so bad that I actually got offended after watching it.

RJDJ basically played himself, if you ask me. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I was offended because I thought I had missed something. Considering all the hype & rave reviews.

I was offended by the small screen time afforded to Scarlett Johansson's ass.

i ll give you that, but is it enough to excuse ironman 2 which was just unwatchable? the dark night trilogy is some of the best stuff made this past decade, really no room to compare these two series imo
The Marvel films are good for what they are. None of them are terrible. Ironman is pretty solid. Probably the best of the lot.

They're not really comparable to Batman. Accept that they deal with super heroes. The Batman series was levels above.

As for Avengers, I thought it was the best "summer blockbuster" in a long time. But that's not saying much. The competition is what, transformers?:D

I went opening night and fan reaction was insane. Cinematically, it's fine, the director did a solid job of pulling the stories together and the acting was capable. A lot of crowd I saw the film with are probably life-long Marvel fans and they love it. So for that, it's a winner.

I have no idea how people can enjoy Avengers. After 25 minutes it becomes blatantly obvious that none of the Avengers will ever face real danger, since they're basically indestructible. It felt like CGI porn and a script bereft of any real drama, since none of the heroes can die.
