Avengers wasn't easy to do since it was an ensemble movie, fitting in iconic superheroes as single team was a challenge, and since they are typical superheroes plot is supposed to be predictable. But all in as E said, it was deffo one of THE best summer blockbusters I seen, just silly and very enjoyable ride. Can't wait for the second one.

Man of Steel will be the blockbuster boss of the summer for sure, like Batman movies were. Like the more serious, gritty and epic approach they are going with it.

Ouch! You never hold back, do you? :D
hes big boy he can take it :D

The Marvel films are good for what they are. None of them are terrible. Ironman is pretty solid. Probably the best of the lot.

They're not really comparable to Batman. Accept that they deal with super heroes. The Batman series was levels above.

As for Avengers, I thought it was the best "summer blockbuster" in a long time. But that's not saying much. The competition is what, transformers?:D

I went opening night and fan reaction was insane. Cinematically, it's fine, the director did a solid job of pulling the stories together and the acting was capable. A lot of crowd I saw the film with are probably life-long Marvel fans and they love it. So for that, it's a winner.

i dont get it, why isnt batman in the comic superhero movie genre? it's levels above because of how good it is, simple as that.

Did I say they weren't in the same genre? Pretty sure I acknowledged that fact.:boh:

I think you misunderstood what I meant by comparable.

I have no idea how people can enjoy Avengers. After 25 minutes it becomes blatantly obvious that none of the Avengers will ever face real danger, since they're basically indestructible. It felt like CGI porn and a script bereft of any real drama, since none of the heroes can die.
No comic book hero ever dies. If he does it's some philosophical journey into the after life from which he learns an important lesson and eventually recovers from.

Deneb, did you watch Football is God? A documentary made by a danish guy following three Boca fans and how it influences their lives? La Tia was hilarious

Children of Men and LA Confidential are both great films.

I watched Mama a couple nights ago... i was pretty disappointed in it, not much different from other 'ghost' films. And the starring actress just didn't sell herself as the 'punk rock girl' she was supposed to be.

Was baby sitting, so it lead to me putting on Rise of the Guardians, nice and little sweet movie. Not Pixar type of good, but more like cute holiday movie for kids.
