Not to me, I'm too selective in deciding on what movies to watch :D

Jodaeie nader az simino didi?
Yes, now that's a movie that takes your complete attention from start to finish. Powerful drama, great acting, not necessarily entertaining. what did you think of it?

I think I'll crawl into bed soon and watch 12 Angry Men. One of my favorite black and whites - not because that list is extensive by any means though.

Great film, very engaging. I'm a fan of Farhadi's. Love his way of characterization.

I really didn't expect such international success for Jodaei though, now it seems it's having a fair chance of at least being nominated for the foreign film Oscar. Would be the second time for an Iranian move after bachehaye aseman.

You seen his "About Eli"?

How can you not watch Dr. Strangelove several times?
Because I had to watch 2001: A Space Odyssey :p

I used to be like that. But then you reach a certain point wanting quality rather than quantity. But I still rarely watch movies more than once.
I'm talking about the quantity of quality movies. There are still many great classics I haven't seen.

The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo

I'll do a short review. First off...

It is 2 hours and 40 minutes in length.

I liked it, though I think that many will not simply due to its length. It may be Fincher's most complete film, though Fight Club will probably remain my favorite.

Fincher does very well simplifying the narrative and cutting the large amount of unnecessary rubbish from the novel. Even so, it's still long and at times slow, though it's a purposeful slow (usually highlighting some important part of the narrative) which builds to quicker paced parts of the film. Think of it as a cross between Zodiac and Fight Club, cinematically not narratively of course.

The film was scored by Trent Reznor, (if you live under a rock, he is the creative force behind the industrial rock machine Nine Inch Nails). This was a gamble by Fincher, but it paid off as Reznor sets the tone beautifully. He manages to capture the softer moments as well as the dark.

I think if you're a film fan and prefer a solid story that is done very, very well you should see this movie. If you prefer to be entertained, but cannot give anymore than 80 to 110 minutes of your day, then this isn't for you. I think The Darkest Hour and Arthur Christmas are playing down the hall.

Haven't seen it, so I can't comment on the rest; but didn't Reznor do the soundtrack to TSN ?

Aoron, dont get why people dont like long movies, I miss when movies used to be longer, now basically EVERYTHING is under 2 hours or more less.

Looking forward to this

I'm too, badly so, just finished the book, waiting on my two brothers to do the same so we can see it on cinema (slowest of us to read it buys ze tickets :p).
