Thats stupid, rom coms are most formulaic and cliche shit ever most of the time, very few barely reach above average typically shallow and produced stuff. Only things they might have going for them is a charming actor/actress or a comedian here or there. But in general, they are as usual not romantic at all, but most importantly barely funny. Just at best charming. Better to see real comedies to find funny.

Before Sunrise and sunset are both great romantic drama movies, who are genuinly honest and realistic depictions of life and love. Not overly cheesy or overdown, just GOOD.
We don't need you and your high horse. We already now that, no one is saying these movies are master pieces of cinema, far from it. They are however, easy to watch and good way to kill the time. Especially while cuddling with a girl.

They're not really that funny and aren't really great cinematic work either, but they have this feel good factor about them. I don't know how to explain it really, but they are much more appealing to me than your run of the mill romance movie.
