We don't need you and your high horse. We already now that, no one is saying these movies are master pieces of cinema, far from it. They are however, easy to watch and good way to kill the time. Especially while cuddling with a girl.
I understand that, and I watch these movies for same reasons too (usually due to lack of anything else or the mood), but just explaining the distinction to Fred, he was almost sounding like he was watching fine cinema and dismissing real engaging romantic drama, when half of the films he listed are lame or just OK.

They're not really that funny and aren't really great cinematic work either, but they have this feel good factor about them. I don't know how to explain it really, but they are much more appealing to me than your run of the mill romance movie.
Oh ok, I understand, though lots of them are pretty cliche and annoying. It depends on what you are looking for I get, because the romance part in the name is retarded with these movies, its formulaic repetetive nonsense 99% of the time. A good and real romance movie generally stand up for the name of that subject way better.

His face on 0:27 is priceless.

Before Sunset and Before Sunrise are two great movies. How dare you compare them to a list of movies which has The girl Next Door included?
I didnt, but was trying to enlighten Fred what real romantic movie is like, and not these romantic comedies who generally are neither romantic at all or even comedic.

I like romantic movies and I enjoy comedies a lot. Tragedy happens when the two genres mix with each other :D
