From the 57.1M you need to take the money we got from sales, co-ownerships and loans, which is 39.1M (Ariaudo 1.3M, Criscito 6M, Molinaro 3.9M, Almiron 2.5M, Diego 15.5M, Ekdal 2.4M, Poulsen 5.4M, Tiago 0.5M, Esposito 0.6M, Giovinco 1M)
So, for 2010/2011 we are in minus of 18M eur.

Now, for next season we'll probably already start with a minus of ~45-50m when we'll buy Quag, Pepe, Matri, Sorensen and Aquilani. To that we'll add the new purchases and then we'll take the sales into consideration too.

I think you two are misunderstanding each other. JuveJay is saying that there is no way we'll be in a -80M eu minus, not that we won't buy players for 80M eur.

And those other deals are not full transfers with spread payments, they are loans with the option to buy. Thinking back to what we spoke about a while ago with Quagliarella, most probably done deals in another guise, but we don't have to buy if certain circumstances arise. And we haven't spent €85m...

So, instead of the 14 (fourteen) players we 'signed' for this €85m we instead should have signed 4. Yes, four. I'd love to see that squad. Or maybe that's €80m on top of the €57m (subtracted from the €85m), we have already actually spent on players under Marotta. €43m coming back in sales.

I'm not sure if they would bring us much more, but they certainly wouldn't bring us much less. Whatever the case, Criscito and Giovinco should be on the squad. Whatever else is just fuckery.

I'm not saying we would make a huge step up in quality here, but lets agree that Gio would be much better than Pepe, Criscito would be much better than DC, Grygera, Motta, and Grosso for LB, and Ekdal/Marrone would easily fill Sissoko's shoes in terms of solid game play, maybe not destroying but at least improve our midfield possession.

Do you guys know that 39 different players played for Juve this year in the official serie A, EL and Coppa matches? That's almost 40 different players. Almost two full squads.
7( or 8 if we count Sorensen) are from primavera, but the other 32(31) players were senior players.

As things stand right now we have 26 senior players (counting Sorensen too) in the squad

GK: Buffon, Storari, Manninger
DR: Motta, Sorensen, Salihamidzic, Grygera
DL: Grosso, De Ceglie, Traore
DC: Barzagli, Chiellini, Bonucci, Rinaudo
MC: Aquilani, Melo, Sissoko, Marchisio
MR: Krasic, Pepe
ML: Martinez
SC: Quagliarella, Iaquinta, Toni, Matri, Del Piero

Amauri, Lanzafame, Tiago, Pasquato, Marrone, Immobile are still owned by Juve and will return to us in the summer
Giovinco, Palladino, Ekdal, Almiron and Ariaudo are half owned by us and another club.

Salihamidizic will leave in the summer, but that still leaves us with 25 senior players from the current squad+Amauri, Lanzafame, Tiago.

Ideally the team should have 22 senior players (two for every position) and the rest could be from primavera. In the summer we will have 6 senior players more than needed, so no matter how many new players we buy, we should sell that same number of players+6.

If we take a risk, then instead of 22 senior players we'll go with 20 senior players so in that case we can buy 2-3 good/great players and get rid of ~10 senior players.

cheers for laying it out like that, alen...clearly the larger task for marotta, is not the hunt for new players to strengthen the squad, but the very obvious, serious difficulties surrounding selling our shit players. I really have no desire to see Pepe stay, better to accept the loss of 2.5 (?) and not pay the extra 7.5. Motta, traore...and unless he shows soon a massive upsurge in aquilani...all can go...they are loaned, so we dont need to find clubs willing to take them. Rinaudo also...sali's contract expires...so there are 6 senior players OUT, straight away. no hard work for marotta, all he has to do is have Momo drive them to the airport (or off a cliff)...

now...as far as i recall, annoying as it is, from a purely financial aspect, taigo's contract also expires this summer, so we get nothing for him.

Momo, Amauri, Iaquinta, Grosso, Lanzafame, Palladino, Almiron, Ariuado...ALL can be sold, whether we have 50% or 100% presently of their registrations. If we can get rid of momo, amauri, iaquinta, grosso, thats another 4 players out of the senior squad...so, before purchasing anyone, other than quags and matri, (both of whom, especially matri i am certain we will buy...cagliari would not have let their best striker leave, without a decent replacement, halfway through the season, unless they were sure they would get their $$$ in full) we would have :

thats 14/15...up front we look ok, capable. krasic definitely needs someone to challenge him and give him a break on the right. im still unsure what martinez is..whether left winger or left wide forward...either way we clearly need someone on the left of midfield, if we ever want decent balance with krasic...why not giovinco?...could ekdal come home to be useful backup for CM???? and we will need not just one but two rbs...or one wicked rb and one promoted from primavera...

so giovinco for LW...a classy RB...challenger to de ceglie at LB....backup for CM...backup for krasic..RW...

also, i thought we were in 2012...and have done for a few days now...its the vodka i blame, as well as the appearance of a likely unobtainable but still wondrous and intoxicating minx who has disorientated my senses...so actually tiago's contract ends next year...as for sorensen. definitely we keep him, but not as the main right back...he is too young and inexperienced. Shown huge potential, out of position, and truly thrust in at the deep end, but if we are serious about making damn sure we are to qualify for the champions league next year, or even have a decent chance, a classy right back is needed. so that is 15/16 (depending on manninger's contract)...which i reckon most people will agree with. good news about tiago, maybe we can get 5-7m for him..
