Ignoring what he did to Iran, Kuwait, and Saudi, he murdered 250,000 of his own people. He used chemical weapons on the Kurds killing 5,000. So other than those minor indiscretions, I guess you are saying that he was pretty popular, was a renaissance man, and good for his country and the region. :facepalm2: However I do think Iraq would be not be an incubator and safe haven for Islamic terrorists if he was still in power.

I'd like to know what people from the middle east, or muslims think about whats happening now in iraq.

Isis, the islamic state in iraq and syria is making quick progress, but are strickly conservative and want to implement the sharia where they conquer.
Truth be told, its going so quick because they are sunnites, the majority are sunnites, whilst the goverment in bagdad are shiites, wich they dont like.

I dont like this personally. It gives the bad image that islam is out there to go and conquer the world and impose their fundamentalism upon the world. Whilst the gigantic majority are just muslims, who practive their believes, and can perfectly co-exist with other religions or atheists without wanting to impose their own state.

I'd like to know muslim opinions on this, widen my views, see if i'm missing something

They are not gonna conquer the world. After USA invasion, Sunnis becomes slaves and prisoners. They have been treated like they are unwanted guests in their own country. They have been erased from government, army, judiciary and other important positions.

There is a reason why a peasant turns into a militan who can behead someone. They are human just like you all, none can claim that he would never do such a thing after living the life they have been forced to live. Mind you, it didn't happened in one day. They have been crying for justice for past 10 years but nobody bothered to listen.

Their acts were highly questionable though. As i said in previous post, they fought against the opposition rather than Assad in Syria. Assad don't bother fighting them as well. Also you can't survive much if you piss off every single faction available. So far they pissed Shiites, Kurds, Iran, USA and Türkiye off.

I am afraid that there maybe some tools in their leadership who want to use this movement as an excuse for even more oppression and discrimination against Sunnis.

There is an ongoing war against Muslims in all over the region. There is also some nasty shit going on in Africa. Muslims have been literally erased from Central African Republic. Now fucking colonialists want to invade Nigeria and cripple the Muslim community by using this kidnapped girls event. Muslims being burned alive in Burma and list goes on...

In Islam, there is no separation between people and religion, state and religion. Religion is exactly in the middle of people's life. If you try to separate, or even worse, force people to live like you tell them to do, this is what you get. Today there is no single country ruled with Sharia but the region is living it's worst days in human history. Why are the colonialists pumping secularism in middle east? It surely isn't because they love the people live there so much but to cause unending conflict between masses of people and illegitimate governments which don't reflect the values of people. So they can suck them dry without even using armies like they did in past.
