Fine, it's an okay theory. I don't think it's really true, because some people have always been on his case without any mention of those events. But like him or not I think some of these statements of him being inferior to Amauri or Iaq are ludicrous considering what he's done here.

amauri is 29, he's far from need of development. a few more seasons would make him 31 by your logic. that would put him in the same place as david is right now! amauri has had his injury bugs as well and thus we would be having this same convo 2 years from now about amauri!

That's just the problem Martin. You seem to like twisting words and phrases to suit yourself. I never said he was an inferior player considering Trez's remarkable achievements with Juve in the past, I'm talking about the present and the future. In which cases, yes, IQ and Amauri are probably going to offer more to the team than Trez.

No, it is not debatable whatsoever.

When has Amauri shown he has the instinct and calibre of finishing to claim he's better than Trezeguet in that respect? Meaning, show me where he comes close to scoring as many goals as David in one of their top seasons. Then, once you're done that, prove to me that if both players were healthy, Amauri would be the better finisher.

It's not a dick measuring contest. I've seen them both play, and I acknowledge that Trez was an excellent finisher, perhaps one of the best. I've also seen Amauri play, and he too is an excellent finisher and also has a better overall game to him, also I don't see any reason why we should consider Trez to have better finishing skills. Yes, he has a better history than Amaui but that's only because played for a team like Juve, Amauri was not as fortunate.

He had to waste his talent in serie B and with teams like Chievo. It's not his fault but he does have tremendous finishing ability.

Ofcourse, I can't prove anything, this is just my opinion, just like you can't prove anything to me. I haven't forgotten what Trez has done for us, I love him for that but I don't think he'll get anymore playing time next season and that's why I think we should just let him go considering that he only does have a couple of seasons left in him if he's lucky.

But don't you think that it is time to start building, not just for the now, but for the future, Andy??

Even if it isn't Rossi, eventually there will be a dire need for a second striker on this team in the next couple of years, to say the least.

My reasoning is not because I am disrespecting Trez in any way. Out of all the strikers that are on this team, selling Trezeguet to help secure the present and future of this team seems to be the most viable option. There is no way that they are going to sell Amauri after just one season, unless someone comes along and offers a ridiculous amount of money, and Iaquinta is the perfect "soldier" for this team. He knows his role, and he flourishes in it.

I'm not for selling Trez because I WANT HIM TO GO, I just see it as the move that makes the most sense

That wasn't my point. I meant 2 more years in a Juve shirt where he can actually produce some numbers instead of just shoving his Chievo and Palermo days up my face, maybe you should wait and see what he can do with a good team.

Of course, but the point is that there is no particular proof that says Trez won't make a comeback. And if he does (there's if again) he's the best striker we have (no if).

It's my view that you model your strategy after the players you have, so if you have a goalscorer like Trez you're extremely wasteful (to say it nicely) if you can't exploit that. What's more, I can't comprehend that people would be blessed with one of the best strikers in the club's history and still complain that he doesn't do this, he doesn't do that.
