Today's loss has nothing to do about who we sold. Nothing.
It's not only today. The signs were always there. When you keep changing players every single fucking year, regardless of the quality you bring in, there will be a period of adjustment and acclimation. Unfortunately, our new recruits haven't proven up to the task of our former quality players. Moreover, keeping useless duds like Asa and Licht just to fulfill squad requirements does more harm than good.

Our current "quality players" haven't been up to the task either.

We’ve been conceding pretty much on every match this season, maybe just maybe it has something to do with losing what was arguably the best defensive unit in the world??

Both our board and Allegri are at fault for what’s been happening.

And the ones we bought have yet to add anything really significant...

:agree:

I don't know how people can't see how much weaker we are down the right side of our defense. Look how many goals/chances are coming from that side. Other players are also moving over to that side to add more protection, but that is pulling them away from their normal role, costing us balance.

De Vrij and SMS would be a start. Buffon is retiring and tbh I don't think The Pole is good enough to replace him; he's a quality keeper, but he's not @ Buffon's level. Barza and Chiellini aren't getting any younger, and we might end up selling Alex Sandro and replacing him with some shitbag. We might be irrelevant for a few years.

Because they get 15 min run-outs.
i don’t agree with that either, that’s on Allegri. But you got to look at the bigger picture here.

We’ve been dismantling our squad every season since Conte. Sure we have been able to turn things around and make it work with whatever we have. Have we been lucky! But it’s only logical to think this cannot work forever, this might very well be the season we win no trophies because of the way we’ve been conducting our mercatos. Some of our star players aren’t really in the greatest of forms.

Its a bit of a snowball really. You can’t blame it all on one person.

I thought we had a fantastic mercato, we signed good quality players all around.

Only problem is Allegri is still starting Mandzu as a left winger when Costa and Bernardeschi should not allow him to play there and Cuadrado can't put a run of 2 or more good games together ever in a season

When you concede 3 goals in a single half vs Sampdoria, their are bigger issues than our wingers.

fantastic mercato? seriously?!
We brought in a lot of good players, but no one that improves our weakened starting 11. As said, Our squad is better, but our Starting 11 is worse than last season. Fantastic.

:shifty:

Dani Alves over Licht and Bonucci over Rugani would have done us wonders....not to say that Marotta didn't do the right thing by removing cancerous characters from our squad. At least get above average replacements, or solidify our midfield if you're gonna weaken the defense.
