i dont blame him what soo ever, look guys lets be true to our selves instead of believing each and every rumour we hear about.

we need to understand that for buffon who is the greatest goal keeper in the world to actually play in seria B is a great sacrifice for him and his career. a goalie of his caliber deserves to play in a team thats after trophies not promotion to a higher league. so what if he complains all the time, at least the guy is striaght forward unlike some other who were playing games with us (fans) and then ditched us and started talking rubbish about us. ig u guys get a chance to watch the juve matches in seria B u will understand how terrible things are for him for heavens sake the guy does not trust any of his defenders and he acts as a sweeper 80% of the time just to cover up for tonnes and tonnes of errors made by our defense. and lets not fool our selves just cos he is the best goalie in the world does'nt mean that he is expected to cover up for other players mistakes. despite all this our lovely board insist that at the moment there is no need for new signings in january and that tis squad is good enough. i am afraid they are watching the wrong juve games or they really dont know what juve's defense is all about. for heavens sake juventus is well known thru out there history for solid defensive preformances and quality goal keepers and we all know the examples that support this claim. so i honeslty pray that buffon will stay with us bec of all the players who stayed he is the most important one, with all respect to del piero, trez, zala, and cammo.

Buffon gives Juve brush-off
Saturday 6 January, 2007
Gianluigi Buffon has given the clearest indication yet he intends to leave Juventus at the end of the season and a possible option is Milan.

“I have no doubts and know I will make the right decisions,” commented the goalkeeper after this evening’s 3-2 Trofeo Berlusconi defeat to the Rossoneri.

“I want to let the next two or three months pass and see Juventus back in Serie A with a solid lead. Then I will make the right choices along with the club.”

There is a strong hint that it is time Buffon move on to pastures new, although he could not be accused of abandoning the ship after he was one of the few stars to stay on despite their demotion in the Calciopoli scandal.

“I keep reading all these articles on my future, but as usual I’m the calmest one in these situations! I am just waiting for things to settle down a little bit. With or without me, it will always be a great Juve. This club has shown it can survive big name sales.”

The world’s top goalkeeper has been heavily linked with Milan and Inter, but warns they aren’t his only options.

“If I were to leave Juventus, then I would also consider an overseas experience, but I don’t see many clubs out there who need a 'keeper. The same is true of Italy, as Inter and Milan have those positions covered.”

Yet with Dida’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, the Rossoneri in particular are eager to snap up Buffon.

Praise also came from Carlo Ancelotti following the Trofeo Berlusconi encounter at San Siro.

“Buffon is a champion above and beyond club colours. All fans of football respect him, as he is an extraordinary talent and a very uncomplicated person. He proved once again today what he’s truly worth,” said the Coach.

Milan got the 3-2 victory and hope it will continue their revival in Serie A and the Champions League as well.

“We have a lot to work on, but in the last four days we have trained hard and showed good spirit, so I am confident. We need to keep more possession, especially with the creative midfielders at our disposal.”

Buffon should be allowed to talk in cases where he wants to leave, but Milan have to pay right price. I am incensed at their attempt to virtually get him for nothing over the summer, and if they think Ronaldinho is worth 76m sterling pounds, Olivera 12m, then Buffon is at minimum 50+. It would be insult to think otherwise. They must come to the negotiation table with right attitude and not that of trying to get a player for next to nothing.

In any case, our management should drive the price up by bringing perhaps Barca, and Inter into bargaining table. I don't like Inter, but Moratti will pay the money if it means Milan not landing Buffon.

buffon is not going, our board won't let it happen. it would have an enormous negative impact on our future plans.

I'm afraid if the board doesn't bring anyone in the january transfers , the most important players will leave. I'll say to give a positive hint let's bring mascherano first.

Vlatko,

It depends on situation IMO. Mark77 provided us with a good account why Buffon might want to leave, and this has nothing to do with football. If his girl-friend wants to move then, I think it will be very difficult to keep Gigi between our posts next year. But you are right in that, Gigi is irreplaceable. I was watching Arsenal vs Liverpool yesterday, and couldnt help but think Buffon would have surely stopped that Rosicky second goal with his athleticism. Its amazing how many great routine saves Buffon make are out of realm for the 99% of GK's in the world.

Thank Gill_Juve.

Buffon leaving this summer would be more hurtful(to the team and the fans) than it would've been if he left last summer :(.
Very true, Dominic, & I hope he doesn't go.
However, if you read the report carefully, it's NOT Buffon, who actually says that he is definitely leaving, NOR does he say that he is going to Milan. What Gigi says is what he said at the beginning of the season: - he is going to wait until the end of the season before he decides. This is more speculation by the media, you know the kind of thing: - if you haven't got a story, make one up! Gigi is probably as fed up of this as we are, only he is too polite to say so.
Gigi will make his decision at the end of the season & we'll have to wait until then, to find out what that will be.

Buffon drops exit hint Monday 8 January, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gianluigi Buffon’s Juventus future remains in doubt after he insisted that he does not want to discuss his future any more.

The Bianconero reiterated on Saturday that he might leave the Turin outfit at the end of the season.

This caused director general Jean Claude Blanc to state in an interview to Tuttosport that he considered the goalkeeper a key player for Juve’s return to the highest levels.

“I am pleased to read these words, but I do not want to speak about this issue any more,” said Buffon before being presented with a medal by the President of the Italian Republic.

“I have been playing football for the past 12 years and I know how things go. I am sure that anything I might say would cause trouble to me and the entire team.

“That is why I choose to remain silent,” added Buffon, who was also awarded the 2006 Lev Yashin trophy as best goalkeeper in the world by FIFA President Sepp Blatter.

“I am not the only player at Juventus and I do not think that I am the only one to decide my future – I am not that important,” concluded Buffon.

Meanwhile, Juve suffered a double injury blow as Giorgio Chiellini and Jean Alain Boumsong are set to be sidelined after picking up knocks in Saturday’s Trofeo Berlusconi defeat to Milan.

The two defenders underwent scans, which revealed a strain in the left thigh for Chiellini, who will have to rest for six weeks before resuming training with the rest of the team.

Boumsong will be out of action for three or four weeks to recover from a strain in his right leg, but Raffaele Palladino, who also hurt himself in Saturday’s match, is expected to be available for the trip to Mantova.

Channel 4 reports conflicting stuff day-in & day-out. This new report holds as much weight as any of the others.

I'm convinced Buffon doesn't know what he'll do until he sees the state of the team after the season is over.

that's true, but we can't believe what we read in the newspapers, especially these days. if buffon wants to leave there's no point in stopping him, be it football or personal reasons.

but i gotta admit if a lady like gigi's girl asked me to move shitsville i had no other choice but to comply. :D
