high respect for the man... all the more Juve should not tie him down any longer... he deserves to be playin' at the big stage...

How can a Juventino say something like this ? Juventus is his family. We love Gigi he loves us
Did Milan tie Maldini down when Milan was out of Champions league for 3 or 4 years or did Maldini accept to stay with Milan no matter what? Did Inter tie Zanetti down when they were losing in Italy and didn't play in Europe or was it his own choice to stay ?

you say you love Buffon? than why is Juve so selfish to tie him down? sometimes lovin' someone means bein' willin' to let him go... and by leavin' would his career reach the pinnacle where it deserves...

you make it sound like we are mediocre and won't win anything. We will back to the top in the next 2-3 years and Gigi knows this. Besides do you understand that it's not like we don't pay him money. Few keepers (if any) make the same money as he does and only a few clubs (less or about the fingers on your hand) can afford his wages or his price.

Some decent media crap for once, from Galliani:

However, the transfer guru explained precisely why they decided to renew Dida’s contract earlier this month.

“We offered him another three years on his deal after having asked Juventus for Buffon. The Bianconeri told us he was not for sale.”

...Good. He better not be for sale.
Or else, I'll turn Galliani into uncle Fester - by giving him two lovely black eyes! :boxing: :boxing:

ok i see what u mean zz and so i ve decieded to answer u by telling u why buffon is soo important for juventus at the moment and in the future, putting in mind that so far i ve missed just 4 games for juventus this season and i have seen all the rest:

1- buffon is irreplaceable and by this i mean to say that it would take really hard work and loads of cash to get some one of his calibare one of which juventus does'nt have at the moment. lets be honest there r just two names that can match buffon and these are:

A- cassillas
B: peter cech

both of which wont leave there current clubs if the sky falls on the ground.

2- mirante is a good goalie i have to agree i ve seen him play a game or two but he still has a very long way to get to buffons standard and become juves prime shot stopper.

3- if u go back and look at the reasons why juventus managed to win and keep there wins u will realize that buffon played the biggest role in that. no offense but its no secret our defence at the begining of the season was nothing short from rubbish and it was buffon who saved us on numerous occasions.

4- buffon makes a good leader in my opinion and he more than any one deserves to carry the captain band after del piero there is no doubt in my mind. he hass all the personal characteristics that qualify him to doing that. not to mention he has proved to us that he is a true juventino.

5- we did'nt force him to stay and we cant force him to stay with us in seria B for heavens sake he is the worlds best goal keeper it was his chioice and he never ever moaned or came out to the press saying the current management forced me into staying.

6- i am pretty sure that gigi is the second most popular player at juventus and its no secret the amount of love and respect we have to this player makes it really hard to see him part us compared to zidane for example who we loved his playing skills yet never considered him a true juventino like buffon.

thats all there is to it and if u think logically i think juventus really need to keep buffon bec his abscence will cost this club alot of hard ship. we r returning back to seria A sooner than later and over there it wont be easy specially if we have an average goalie like abbiati, or any other name u guys would like to mention.

i'll make a quick reply to those that quoted me... and don't bother replyin'... because we have differin' opinions... and neither what i say or what you say would change our own opinions... so let's just leave it as it is...

@ Elvin... he choose to follow Juve down... but now that promotion is almost certain... makin' him stay would be to tie him down... he deserves to play at the biggest stage but stayin' with Juve means he can't for 2 straight years at least...

@ Lion... the current Juve is not goin' to be challengin' for the Scudetto next year... that is definitely not the challenge Buffon seeks... and personally i think Juve needs more than 3 years to get back to the top... and i'm sure Buffon feels that way as well... and the talk about his wages? do you honestly think he can't be makin' more than that with another club? and personally i feel winnin' trophies is what he wants... not just a high paycheck with a club that cannot challenge for major trophies...

@ Bisco... i have evaluated everythin' before makin' that post... and i know all the points you have pointed out... but your last comment... you said Juve really need to keep Buffon... and that is true... but is it fair to make him stay another season? to me it is selfish on Juve's part... and since he was such a good servant to the club... releasin' him would only be fair to him...

Juve isn't going to force him to stay, they have said on numerous occasions that they would accept whatever gigi chooses because he stayed with us in our darkest hour, the management also said that they hope he will stay cause he is irreplaceable.

You don´t understand the situation because you are not a Juventus fan.
The irony is that he carries on saying that Buffon was tied down by Juve. If Juventus tied him down, why didn't we tie down Cannavaro, Zambrotta, Vieira. Emerson, Ibrahimovic, Mutu and Thuram?

And don't tell me that our budget can't bear more wages especially after the heavy financial loss due to the Calciopoli. You're talking about Juventus, man.

You don´t understand the situation because you are not a Juventus fan.
That's the only explanation for what he says. I think he's a Milan fan.

If he's a Milan fan then i can tell him this ~~ Kaka, Nesta and Pirlo didn't win shit with Milan in last 2 years. If you get fucked up again in champions league, and you will, then it is going to be 3 years winning shit.
They deserve to win trophies and in Milan they obviously can't win anything.

They must leave Milan for the sake of their career and Milan mustnt tie them down

If they should leave we will swap Buffon for the three of them. :p

discussion about Buffon leads to off-topics like bein' a Juve fan or Milan fan? is this how people here do things?

whatever happens to Milan & their players is another discussion altogether...

and just because we don't have the same opinion doesn't mean much... is it a rule here that everyone must all agree on everythin'? and that a differin' opinion is not allowed?

i had the impression a forum is about havin' discussions... and discussions come about from different opinions... so if everyone must always agree on the same thing... why even have a forum? why even bother with a discussion?

A forum is a place to discuss things and express different points of view...
But Bbilan has mentioned a logical issue, and thats do Milan's stars need to think of leaving the team, since they have won nothing in the last 3 years?!
of course no, coz Milan is still a great club.
Same goes for Buffon and Juventus...
Buffon won a lot of trophies with Juve...Whats wrong in having 2 or 3 trophy less years?!

Are you a Milan fan though? Your viewpoint seems illogical for a Juventus fan.
