FFS, why do you guys have to turn every thread into one of your sexually deprived conversations?? It's getting old and fucking ridiculous. Take that shit somewhere else. You're the reason why threads keep getting padlocked daily.
Can you show me what threads have actually been closed before you talk shit? And also I could say the same for some of the other threads a la Hezballa, American appreciation thread etc. where often people get warned or banned just for expressing their opinion.

I agree that we should probably bring this talk to the hangout thread but there isn´t any appropraite right now. Grow up.

Dude ... I stopped listening to Al Jazira commentators ages ago ... LOL ... hell last match against Genoa the guy was contradicting himself ... he was going "this is the last season for Buffon in Juve " in the beginning of the match and by the end he was going "Buffon will stay with Juve no matter what happens next year ..."

They have all the crappy things I ever heard ... :)
Admittedly, the commentators of Al Jazeera have ruined its reputation completely. I'll try your idea and stop listening to this nonsense from now on.

Gigi

Despite the pains that the 2006-2007 football season has brought to the millions of Juventus fans world-wide, with the demotion of the ‘old lady’ to the Italian Serie B and the revocation of two Italian titles, for many Maltese Juventus fans, this season will forever be remembered for an entirely different, and very positive reason.

The desire had been great, and the pressure had long been mounting on us Committee Members of the Juventus Club Vero Amore Malta, to strive to bring some Juventus players for an official visit to the island. For this end, the Committee has, over the past months, been building ties with the new Juventus administration in Turin, holding various meetings and discussions all with the view of pressing upon them the deep felt support that the club enjoys in our island. From the word go, we have always found the greatest levels of support and understanding by the Juventus management. What was needed, however, was the right opportunity for such a visit to take place.

Truth be told, there could have been no better opportunity for such a visit than the one presented us during the last weekend. When an international player, a world cup winner no less, visits Malta, such a visit deservedly would be newsworthy, but when said player – arguably the best goalkeeper in the world – does so in support of a worthy cause such as the fundraising events organised by the Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group, then such a visit becomes even more special.

And so, on Sunday 22nd April 2007, Gianluigi Buffon, the Italian and Juventus goalkeeper made it to our island at last. His charisma energised all of those with whom he came in contact, not least the children with whom he played at the Marsa sports complex. Although as such events would dictate Gigi found himself a prisoner of both the strict security detail with which he was surrounded as well as his very tight schedule, he somehow managed to find time and opportunity to make everyone present at any of the three main events organised – the buffet lunch, the sporting events, and the meeting with the supporters at the club – have a whale of a time, harping at each and every opportunity on the need for all of us to give our utmost help and support for the worth cause of the Puttinu Cares Support Group. His very presence in support of such a worth cause is indicative of the man that is Gigi Buffon, a man that has everything and yet finds time to give a helping hand to those who are not so touched by fortune as he.

At the same time, Gigi had a very simple but yet important message to pass on to all of us Juventus supporters. A message of hope in a better future for the club. Buffon openly admitted that despite having just won the world cup, he willingly chose to stay and play in the Serie B with Juventus, with a view of seeing the club achieving promotion in the swiftest possible time. All of us Juventus supporters have people of the likes of Gigi Buffon to thank now that, this objective seems to be fast approaching, with Juventus having a comfortable lead at the top of the table, and this despite starting the campaign with a nine point penalty.

Now that Gigi’s visit has come and gone, there is an important lesson that we all can take to heart. The future beckons for all of us. There will always be challenges in life. Life is hard and very rarely fair. We can either flee or fight. Gigi, as all those young children suffering from cancer in aid of whom the Puttinu Cares Support Group works so hard, chose to fight. No matter what hardship life throws at us, the choice is always ours to make. If we quit, then there can be no hope!

Buffon: It's all lies!
Saturday 28 April, 2007

Gianluigi Buffon has blasted the speculation over his future. “I may stay, I might go, but nobody knows what I have decided – not even me.”

The Juventus goalkeeper has hinted several times that he is reconsidering his position and reports in the media have pictured him as either already wearing the Milan or Inter jersey.

“Everything I hear has been totally invented, because I have not spoken to anyone about my future,” snapped the World Cup winner on Sky Italia television.

“The only thing I feel that I can say is that I will not make the decision by myself. It will be in agreement with the club.

“There is a clear and honest rapport between us and one of reciprocal respect, so if I were to leave I would do so in a way that would benefit Juve as well. If I stay, then everyone will be happy.”

Buffon surprised many in the summer when he opted to go into Serie B with the Bianconeri following the Calciopoli scandal.

“My choice was not forced upon me at all, it was my desire. I was enthusiastic at the idea of bringing this club back into Serie A and that allowed me to have a better approach to this new experience.”

The 1-0 win away to Verona last night saw them further extend their lead at the top of the table – despite the nine-point penalty – with 24 victories in 35 games.

“We almost always win in Serie B, but nobody ever mentions that. The fact we were able to overturn such a large penalty and are top of the table shows that Juventus have victory in their DNA.”

Assuming that buffon is being straight forward to his beloved fans...and assuming he is still unsure. Then there must be something we can do to keep him.
The truth of the matter is that he is an experienced goalie and goalies with this experience are very difficult to find and i feel its gambling on a very crucial position.

I think our defense starting with the keeper should be our priorities. He is number one and as a fan i would definately do something to keep him. Isn't there some kind of poll or vote where it might affect our decision in keeping him?

According to this article he doesnt seem certain...so he should be our primary transfer objective. If it means bringing back Canna and Thuram lets do it.
I think it would be a wiser choice.

Buffon still undecided
2007 04 28 11:06
Gianluigi Buffon has reacted angrily to reports he has already agreed a deal to leave Juventus in the summer.
The World Cup winner's future at the end of the season has been the subject of constant speculation and recent reports had him wearing the colours of both Milan clubs.
However, Buffon has dismissed the rumours and insists that even he has not made up his mind what he is doing in the close season, suggesting that remaining at the Stadio Delle Alpi is still an option.
The 29-year-old former Parma ace said: "I may stay, I might go, but nobody knows what I have decided - not even me.
"Everything I hear has been totally invented, because I have not spoken to anyone about my future.

Some decent media crap for once, from Galliani:

However, the transfer guru explained precisely why they decided to renew Dida’s contract earlier this month.

“We offered him another three years on his deal after having asked Juventus for Buffon. The Bianconeri told us he was not for sale.”

...Good. He better not be for sale.
