bro forgive me and I am genuine here, but where did you get that people here are suppressed badly? sure not saying it's Belgium here, but if you want the truth people don't care as much as you think about politics.... everything here revolves around work and getting through whatever I rarely hear anyone complain about being suppressed. don't know I never got that impression having lived here for almost ten years I don't feel suppressed in any way or form.

again to be very clear elvin I'm not saying its heaven quite far, the inequality gap here is massive but then again that is the trend every where now a days. all i\m saying is of course the people don't have the freedom to demonstrate in the streets and what not, but then again they don't want arab spring non sense here and I agree with that.

Not to slag on my Russo buddies here (transplanted @Bisco etc.), but Russia is kind of an upside-down world. They're like the parallel universe in Counterpart. I have very low confidence that any idea or system of governance outside of Russia will work inside of Russia.

Isnt not having free elections, free judiciary, and pro-people and not pro-government law enforcement being supressed/opressed? How about getting arrested for exposing corruption? Or getting fined/arrested for social media posts? Monopoly, bribery, stealing from pensioners? No journalism?

Sounds pretty surpressed to me. And I lived there too btw (In Siberia).

Yes but the cold war ended on terms that Nato wont jeopardize and expend around Russia. The Baltic countries and others were supposed to be the buffer zone. As for independent countries making there own decisions are you fucking kidding me, the western hypocrites are always dictating what other countries should and should not do.

I dont feel that any of the EU countries or UA are being dictated by Germany, US or whoever.

EU countries no, but Nato is and we are talking about Nato as it's a military organization. We are talking about military presence in those countries near Russia. Why couldn't they accept those countries you mentioned in EU while not require them to be part of Nato?

Like we were forced to take 150 000 refuges from Kosovo when Nato bombarded Serbia. And now it's a shit show because of that. They started a terrorist war which the US founded and gave them weapons and send mercenaries to fight with them and trained them. Also they forbade our military to do anything substantial against them or they were going to the same as they did to Serbia and we were forced to sign peace treaty that they wrote and orchestrated. The population of Macedonia is 2 million btw and that caused a lot conflict within the country to this day.

"Terrorist war" was a fight by North Macedonia Albanians for their rights to have Albanian as an official language. How dare 25% of the total population have any rights?

for one very simple reason. they don't want to go back to the wild '90s when it was free for all and they had an insane amount of corruption. you mention people exposing corruption and getting arrested which is true but then again you also have people who get away with exposing corruption (take Sobchak for one) and nothing happens to them. if you for example are referring to Navalny let me tell you that the Russians themselves are very skeptical of him and his intentions. also, Russia is the kind of country where the next leader is usually worse than the one before him, so Navalny is no guarantee to be better. p.s Navalny might appear as the cute human rights puppy he tries to portray himself as but he is far from that actually and his stance on immigrants is racist at best )) and to be clear immigrants are not the lovely sparkling EU/American/Canadian ex-pats here, but the workers from the post soviet republics....

also to be very clear any Arab spring-like movie in Russia will end in a catastrophe due to Russia's immense size. not that the arab spring was that good.. as you can see it was a shitty spring )

You stop lying the situation was drastically changed before the war in Serbia broke out. If no one wanted to stay why did you come here?? Why not go to Albania?? Why stay in Kosovo in the first place??
