EU countries no, but Nato is and we are talking about Nato as it's a military organization. We are talking about military presence in those countries near Russia. Why couldn't they accept those countries you mentioned in EU while not require them to be part of Nato?
All Baltic countries joined NATO years before they held a vote on whether they even want to join the EU, NATO for all 3 was priority Nr1 not EU. And they joined NATO precisely for the reason that they're near Russia and 2 of them still have large Russian populations, if they hadnt Putin surely wouldve made his move years ago.

And what exactly does NATO gain from them joining? Couple of thousand soldiers and 5 additional helicopters? Strategic location for invading Russia?

for one very simple reason. they don't want to go back to the wild '90s when it was free for all and they had an insane amount of corruption. you mention people exposing corruption and getting arrested which is true but then again you also have people who get away with exposing corruption (take Sobchak for one) and nothing happens to them. if you for example are referring to Navalny let me tell you that the Russians themselves are very skeptical of him and his intentions. also, Russia is the kind of country where the next leader is usually worse than the one before him, so Navalny is no guarantee to be better. p.s Navalny might appear as the cute human rights puppy he tries to portray himself as but he is far from that actually and his stance on immigrants is racist at best :))) and to be clear immigrants are not the lovely sparkling EU/American/Canadian ex-pats here, but the workers from the post soviet republics....

also to be very clear any Arab spring-like movie in Russia will end in a catastrophe due to Russia's immense size. not that the arab spring was that good.. as you can see it was a shitty spring :))
Sounds like my hometown of Chicago. Who knew they learned from the best.

It's the unofficial prerequisite for joining the EU, with few exceptions. And what did Nato gained? They gained access to airspace, military bases, boxed in Russia etc.

You stop lying the situation was drastically changed before the war in Serbia broke out. If no one wanted to stay why did you come here?? Why not go to Albania?? Why stay in Kosovo in the first place??
We came because we had no choice, more than 1 milion civilians were deported. The majority went to Albania. The moment the war ended we came back to our shithole.

And stop jumping from topic to topic when faced with facts.

What is the legality of Russia invading Ukraine? Americans were looking for WMD to legitimise their invasion so is this so Russia can recapture their previous land? Whether this happens or not, is this a big dick contest or what?

It's always the same with Russians: "we'are just helping out our people". Just like in 1939 in Eastern Poland.

And I said the census from 1994 isn't accurate for 1999-2001. Many people in that period emigrated abroad as you say you included. As for post 1999 I'm sorry for what you went trough but almost all Albanians from Kosovo stayed here and that changed the demographic significantly and that's a fact.

Sobchak is Putin's puppet and was his installed candidate.

It was done by your own country but when it does not suit you it is not accurate :howler: if anything 22.7% was way too low.

And how can Albanians from Kosovo be counted when they had no Macedonian citizenship? Do you even understand how pathetic and non logical you sound?

After the war in Kosovo my country took you in as refugees and then all of those who stayed were given citizenship if you want to know. Get your facts straight. As for the 1994 statistic it's accurate but from 1994 until 2001 many emigrated and left the country and the percentage went down by a lot and I said it's not accurate for 2001 when the war started. Same as today there are no more then 20%. How old are you btw sounds like you don't know what you are talking about.

I’m more worried about Georgia. They don’t have a European border, so Putin can pretty much do what he wants, like he did back in 2008.
Cant even begin to express how grateful I am that we (Azerbaijan) have our brothers Türkiye as a close ally.
Shit would be infinitely more dangerous for us.
