The latest is that the firmware malfunction is mainly affecting PS3 owners with an HDD of 1 TB or greater. I'm staying away from it for a few days. Just as I was about to play The Last of Us.

Yeah, but the problem is that my PS3 will auto update everything, including patches. The system turns itself on for a 2 hour period very early in the morning every day and will update any patches to games in my library or system updates. If it is already downloaded and installed into my PS3., I'm in a world of hurt

they'll first need to get those games running on an xbox, with 50% less graphical power then the ps4, then we'll talk.

Its worrying for microsoft that sony trusted the games to run on actual ps4 dev consoles, whilst microsoft used 780/titan GTX based pc's that are 3 times more powerfull then a ps4 or xbox one

its not really that simple

1) amd makes their gpu, whilst the pc's used a gpu from nvidea

2)normally, the test pc is somewhat equivalent to your console. these pc's were 3x stronger

3) it shows that perhaps the xbox one doesnt look as good as ps4, but definatly means microsoft didnt trust their machine, whilst sony did, an ran everything on ps4 devkits

The 360 was a lot cheaper than the PS3 if I remember correctly. I think it was ~200 USD cheaper in the US at launch, so that would have obviously made people's decision easier.

After this shitstorm and being more expensive.. I think this will be Sony's round.

EDIT: Also, I think the 360 came out quite a bit before the PS3. Sony has learned from its mistakes.

exactly, PS4 was later and more expensive, and its faster processor was so complex that it took years before ps4 actually looked slightly better then xbox 360.

Now however, they made it in close contact with game devs, and made a developper friendly console, indie friendly console, that has 50% more graphical power. thats significant. For less money ? not even a choise
