I would have estimated that the figures in the Cannavaro poll would have been reversed. Estimation is never a good way to be used as a statistic.

The problem at the moment is that one can only say that they do or do not want Cannavaro by looking at it very broadly, because we don't know enough about the terms of the contract or the Board's transfer strategy this summer.

As always, the devil is in the detail, so broad principles are all that one can reasonably speak about just now. Anything else is pure conjecture.

That is why I will not be voting until I know more details of the move.

I'm against this transfer no matter what the terms of the deal are. Even if Lippi and Pessotto and Ferrara was in charge of the transfer I'd still be against it on the grounds of Cannavaro sucking balls for the last three years, being too old to offer more than two years of service back there, and him already leaving us for whatever the hell reason he had after claiming he'd stick with the team through Serie B. In each and every argumentative point, the answer is NO!

We are supposedly to be building for the future, not reverting back to the same old players. These are steps in the wrong direction no matter how we look at it.

If people just don't think Cannavaro has anything to offer it is perfectly reasonable to be against the transfer.

I think we could get one good year out of him and he could benefit the youngsters we have, but my being in favour is then subject to other details.

But claiming that if we sign Cannavaro it will be the only acquisition for the defence department is easy talk which I personally don't buy.

Secondly: It will be for the CB position, we will look for an RB if we can get rid of Zebina or Grygera, otherwise we are stuck with them (but most likely go for a RB like Zuniga or someone else, I would love it if we rob Roma for Motta). But CB will end with Canna signing and Criscito being brought back, thats Knezevics and Andrade's spots taken. What, you think we will get another CB? Then who will we sell to make space? Mellberg or Legro?


Its very easy to predict, Toro merda saying what he did isnt knowing more then the board, but KNOWING how the board does things. Just like we all speculated maybe someone else beside Mellberg will be signed when we signed him on a freebee few months before the summer. But as it turned out, we end our activity with the freebie. 2 seasons ago we had to sign someone, and we did with Andrade, but then too, our main reinforcements for the defense seemed to be freebies with Grygera, Sali, Molinaro to a degree, and then dragged Legro out from the chapel of forgotten has beens because he happend to have two functioning legs unlike our prime D signing, who shockingly enough, broke down in half (who cares he was injury plagued in a severe way 3 years in a row before signing for us...).

At the point a lot of players were sold we were to start on -30 points, so it was probable that we would spend two years in 'B' and at least three years without the CL.

I think the problem was that we saw the -30 and sold aour players like they were on a programme of supermarket sweep, the fact of the matter is that we should have waited as the board should have very well known that we we bound to have the points cut, this is Italy after all, where the judicery is about as set in stone as jelly, (they closed down a building project near my home town because the neighbouring reigon got jealous because they didn't get the project)

1.) Did anyone think we are not investing in a young CB when perhaps the idea is to groom Ariaudo or Criscito for that position? Looks like a potential Azzurri partnership in the making to me. Why spend millions on Kjaer or Agger when we could possibly have someone younger and/or better in the making?
