Deschamps: "Juve better than France"

Deschamps, the future and present of Juve, "Juve are better than France. Yes, I even turned down the chance to be coach of France. My Dream? To start a revolution. I wanted Mascherano, now I want A. What do i expect from referees? Something good. In Serie B what counts is belief and athletic spirit: it seems like the French A. I understood straight away that we would keep Gigi Buffon. Its a pity about Cannavaro; all that charisma.
Paro to be the next Pirlo? Possible. Palladino is doing well and Marchisio is scoring. Boumsong will amaze. I respect Lippi and Ancelloti. It is almost impossible for Inter not to win the Serie A, but Roma are playing better. Del Piero? He is coming for two hard years with Capello and played very little. I doubt he is thinking of stopping. 40 brilliant games he can do for me. In January Trezeguet and Camoranesi are going nowhere.

Deschamps: “No room for complacency”

“Piacenza are a well-constructed, quality side, as they showed in their victories over Napoli and Genoa. We’ve already met this season, at Villar Perosa, and having watched their games so far, they look like they have the possibility to do well this season”. Didier Deschamps is taking a cautious approach to his team’s away game at Piacenza on Saturday, aware of the threat the men from Emilia Romagna pose on home soil. “A week ago people were saying that we were not prepared for Serie B, that we didn’t have the right attitude. Now, after three wins in a row, people are saying we should easily win all our games. I’ve told the boys to be careful not to pay too much attention to what they read. When praise is lavished on you, it’s tempting to relax a little, but we must maintain the same approach we’ve had over the last few games”.

Deschamps has a wealth of options available for the clash. “Everyone trained today without problems. The fact that the players are in all in such good condition creates a problem for me as not everyone can play. We’re very close to having all the squad at the same level of fitness”. The journalists asked Deschamps about the condition of his captain. “Del Piero knows what he means to this team and he’s been showing how physically and mentally prepared he is with his performances. He’s training hard but the only truth is that of the pitch. So far he’s been playing very well, but I stress, everyone here is equally important”.

So is the Frenchman expecting trouble up ahead? “Of course we will encounter difficulties over the course of the season, as we did at Rimini. That game was an indispensable experience for the players, as it showed them early on what we’re up against this year”. For Deschamps it’s still too early to be talking about promotion contenders. “We’ll need to see what happens over the next two months before we start talking about who’s likely to go up at the end of the season. Napoli, Brescia and Genoa are supposedly three of the favourites, but they’ve all dropped points so far. I’ve looked at previous years and there are teams that have started well but dropped off towards the end, and vice versa. There’s definitely a need for continuity”. And a word on the pending decision of the CONI. “I’ll take what we’re given. I spent much of the summer waiting in hope so we’ll just have to see”.

“We had a few difficulties towards the beginning, particularly in the final third, but we’re certainly improving. We have more security at the back and we’re making less mistakes, but up front, we always have that quality to score goals when it matters. We did well to maintain out concentration right the way through”. Mission complete for Deschamps after a conclusive 2-0 victory away at Piacenza, thanks to another fine performance from David Trezeguet. “He’s always there in front of goal and he rarely misses a chance. As finishers go, he’s the best in the business”. The Frenchman was quick to point out the quality of the opposition. “Piacenza are a strong side, one of the promotion contenders in my opinion. We knew it would be a hard game, just because we’re Juventus it doesn’t mean we’re going to massacre every team we play. The victory today means that much more for the players as Piacenza are one of the top teams in this championship”. For Deschamps though, there is always room for improvement. “We’re in good form at the moment but we need to maintain that winning spirit. We played well but we wasted a number of chances. Having said that, I have no complaints with 2-0”. :cool2:

Well said coach :D

although i think he should switch starters ... no need to burn up players so early in the championships .. that was crap's biggest mistake ..
