I've said many times before, but i'll say it again for you dhannanjay...

If everything was about age, Zidane, Romario, Effenberg etc would have retired way before, if it's all about enduring the yards.

Not everything in Football is about covering yards, setting a record in km's. Seriously, Del Piero has proved himself many times that he doesn't need to run like overmars and r. carlos combined to be affective on the pitch mate.

He makes a difference on the pitch just like Zidane was doing for Madrid and Raul still doing for them. Just like Totti for Roma and Gerrard in the future will be for Liverpool.

Lets try for once just for once when the season ends to stop writing off Del Piero. He doesn't deserve this.
Nobody's writing him off Rabbijaan. See my previous post, where I've mentioned that he's the crucible that holds this team together and therefore is and will be an important part of the team. But I dont see a coach playing him through the season ahead of a Gio for example. For my money, DP is currently the best forward in Italy, but he's not getting a call up for the Nazionale, despite his mentor Lippi being coach. A big reason for that is, to integrate the youngsters into the squad, because he knows by the time the World Cup comes around Del will be what, 36? It's a very hard fact to digest, but unfortunately age is a consideration for every coach even when the player in question is as legendary as Alex. If you've noticed, he's outdone most of his peers at the same age. Baggio was a shadow of himself at Alex's age. Zidane, I think had retired before he hit 35. Raul is no longer the threat he used to be. It's very hard to write Del Piero off, given his performances in the last two years even with the odds stacked against him, but I think he is going to feel the wear a little more this season and it is going to show to us because we'll be seeing him in context to the Diegos and Giovincos. It's not what I want to see happen, but it's just what I think might happen. Though nothing would be cooler to see him and Trezeguet combine again, we can only live in the hope that it happens again, old school.

It doesn't matter,we showed we can do without him,Del Piero is at his age nad needs a companion that actually can do sth with the ball rather than wait for a goal poach..... we have that now, farewell david.....
What exaclty did we show??? We ended second (and we could easily have ended third) in serie A and we were eliminated by Chelsea in first knock out round...

For achieving such big goals you need world class players. Amauri isn't one yet. He is an excellent player but he is playing in a top team for only one year. He needs more experience in such high level to be top. Iaquinta, is a juventino, is a real fighter but he isn't either ready for such a high level due to luck of experience mainly.

In big matches you need world class players to make the difference in one moment. Do you remember the crazy pass that Treza gave to Iaquinta this year when we played with chelsea in turin???? Do you remember Treza's goal in san siro in 2004 when we won by 0-1?? Do you remember his goal with real in 2004 that sent us to extra time and zalayeta scored?? Do you remember his goal some years before when we won real by 3-1??? These are some moments that can change the faith of a whole team. And that's why we need WC players in our team. Treza is one of them. He is very experienced and has a brilliant finishing. These are the kind of players that every team needs...

We should keep Treza and when the things get nasty we should through him in alongside Del and let them remind us some things from the past. We need all our strikers everyone has something special. We have the magician, the fighter, the beast and the finisher. Keep treza, he is a living legend of Juventus. We have the perfect attack why should we destroy it????

Forza Treza, Forza Juve...

As a result Iaquinta will be an established part of the Old Lady’s attacking package next season alongside Amauri and Alessandro Del Piero while David Trezeguet is officially on his way out from the club.

“The Frenchman has a done a lot for us but for champions like him you can always find a new home,” concluded the Bianconeri President.

If he wants to leave then sell him, no need for him to cry because he is on the bench. Its so fuckin annoying when players complain about not playing enough.
agree with that. but what if nobody gives him the chance to show what is he made of????

last year he was heavily criticised again, he scored 20 goals. he has to score so much every year to prove that he is a world class striker or else he must leave???? if this happens, rooney should have kicked off manchester many years before...

I have a question, why so many people want treza to leave or they doesn't care if he leaves??? If we were ready to get rid of Del or Camo or Buffon in such a way would you say the same???

He came back from a long term injury and found that there are 3 great strikers ahead of him that are producing. He should be more patient and wait his chance like Iaquinta. If he wants to leave, let him go. He is a Juve legend but everything has to come to an end.

CR clearly had a grudge with him, DC and Giovinco.
Treze has undergone surgery in both of his knees, give him a break!
He has proven his value, one year ago. It would be a great mistake to loan him to Roma, thats exactly what they need to make them competitive again. The return of Totti, Aquilani and De Rossi, a new coach and a prolific striker like Treze...

But he is waiting for a chance for over 10 matches and he doesn't get any (and don't tell me for 8 minutes and for the quarter final of the cup where we didn't have any other player available). He need to be a starter for 4-5 matches to show what he can do...

When he decided to make the surgery he had said that this will give him an extra of 2 or 3 years of good football...

I agree that he has to wait for his chance. All of the 4 strikers have endured some bench time in the lasts eason, specially IQ, but in the end his patience paid off and look at him now. The only thing to take in consideration here, is that unlike IQ, Trez really cannot stand to be benched, and will likely make himself be heard.

But, we also need to take in consideration what he has done for us, and if this board has some recpect for teh guy, they cannot let him go this way. This will turn the relationship with the fans even worst, as we all know a big part of the Juventini love trez.

If our midfield for the next season improves to the standards im thinking...Trezeguet definitely still has work to do for us!. So let him go right now is a no-no.

About Del Piero, well he always shut up his haters with numbers and no one can deny this. True, is always get the most playing time but he most of the time repays with numbers. He had a bad streak of games lately but as we all know, everyone even the players were fucked up by ranieri and if ur boss is hard to swallow u simply cannot work properly. In the game against Lazio DP was firing on all cylinders.

And every coach who comes to Juventus knows that benching DP is like to asking for fan hating :D But of course since we have 4 very good strikers.. if he needs to be benched the coach also needs to have the balls to bench him.

I love Trez but if we can get a fair price I think we should do it as we can then strengthen other areas. My major concern is selling him to a rival in Serie A. I am very much against this... so a sale to Roma is out of the question for me. I think we should either sell him to lyon or a team fron England or France. I wonder if Man City is still interested as they have no top CF.

no need to duck, sounds like a great plan...only we can't compete if other clubs start waving their chequebooks as well
Yea, and there is also the rumor that Man Utd. has a buy back clause. Don't know the truth behind that one, though.

With Villarreal missing the Champions League next year and their coach just signing with Real Madrid I wouldn't be surprised to see Giuseppe and a couple other players from that team looking elsewhere.

Gigli: Trezeguet is a great champion who did a lot but sometimes other “homes” can be found for great champions. If this does not happen he will remain one of the four great forwards of Juventus.
