I don't get one thing.

Let's say whole France gets vaccines. They can still get the virus but, as they say, it's less harmful than living without one. But the fact is that they get exposed nevertheless. Right?

So... why do I need a vaccine if I want to travel to France? If I have covid then they still get infected, but yeah, to a lesser degree, so they don't end up in hospitals. So why do I need that covid passport/vaccine shot? France cares about me?

Well as things stand now, only 1.6% of the global population is vaccinated. Even Israel, the furthest ahead at the moment, seems to be leveling off at around 50% or so. Maybe there is a concern for an outbreak among the other half of the population. Or perhaps the possibility of having to take care of sick travelers. Or could be fear of new mutations being created in unvaccinated groups and then being imported.

Basically: who knows, but you have a while to worry about all of any country being vaccinated anyway.

Meh, I still think Covid thing won't just disappear. Not only plenty of people won't take a vaccine but next year when you have to take it again I think majority won't take it and we'll see crazy numbers pop up and everything repeat. We're also gonna live differently this whole year with stupid masks and some sort of restrictions.

How's US doing with vaccines? How many did you guys fire so far
i think we’re doing pretty good right now. Most states have opened vaccines to everyone or will be opening them up to everyone soon.

it was a bit of a cluster fuck for a while but federal guidance over the last few months has really moved vaccines forward
