This Italian team is thin on quality. A missing player in defense, midfield, or attack, and they are $#@!ed. They don't have many options or choices.

I think they'll have depth in the mid/attack once Insigne, Verratti, even Florenzi comes through but to not really have a WC CB besides maybe Chiellini is incredible for Italy.

Sure, they could switch to 3 but that leaves us vulnerable to pressing teams because our back 3 are weak on the ball (see Bayern and Celtic CL games).

I think you guys are drawing way too many conclusions from the Confederations Cup, Italy isn't Milan, some fancy cup in the off-season isn't their most important competition. De Rossi was a good example of that, had a big role in two of the goals, but played so poorly most of the game, that everyone started asking questions whether Italy have another DM option. In the WC I expect him to be another player, like he usually is in big tournaments. On the other hand, De Sciglio was underwhelming, that guy had everything to prove unlike most of the team.

Agree, only advantage Italy has over most countries is their midfield. Teams like Argentina have a very shitty midfield.

Yeah. Italy barely deserved to scrape a draw, let alone win. Japan were clearly the better side. Let's see how they respond against a lively and motivated Brazil team. It's about time Italy beat Brazil.

like I said before, the Azzurri were not into the game yesterday, they were thinking they would cruise to a 1-0 win in good old fashinon Italy style but were punched in the face not once but twice by Japan before they woke up and took the 3-2 lead. Then decided to stop playing again until Japan tied it and finally the winner by Giovinco. Im conviced they would have scored ha 5th if Japan had tied it again LOL! I expect a much better organized and determined team vs Brazil, we always play to the level of our competition so our mentality level should rise come Saturday. Some of the clearences yesterday were so absurdly bad, I couldn't believe my eyes ! And one more thing.... STOP THE LAME GAMES ON DEFENSE JUST CLEAR THE FKN BALL! STOP TRYING TO BE CUTE! <---------- thats how we gave up both dumb PKs.

I think its just for the confederation cup, we should get a new one for the WC next year but I think its kind of nice, one of the nicest PUma has made since the WC one in 2006.

I liked the Euro 2012 one better.. especially the collar.
For this one, the white triangle at the collar is already looking a bit weird, plus the green and red strip on the sleeves are not looking good.

Oh, I thought you meant they weren't tired. The team is build around Juve players and they've played a lot of games the last two seasons. There are other factors, but I think that's the main one.

Today, our players fucked up, but they also secured the win.

They also played in the Euros last summer as well. So the boys have been without a good break for a while now.

Why isn't Prandelli using Diamanti? He's probably the best suited player he has to play alongside Giaccherini, behind Balotelli.

There is also of course El Shawarma but he isn't being used.
