Aquilani :trollol:
Montolivo and Pirlo were both poor in the midfield today. They got dominated.
De Sciglio makes far too many mistakes still. He costed Italy at least two goals. DS has a lot of potential, but he needs to develop more still.
Barzagli and Chiellini were a bit shaky as well, but I think most of that came out because of the poor performance of the fullbacks today.
De Rossi, Giaccherini, Giovinco, Balotelli all had good games.

match just a circus no matter:lol:
No other way to describe it lol. The Azzurri seemed disinterested and tired. Too much Brazil beach can do that to you. There was a sequence in the 1st half where the ball was on our defensive side rolling slowly towards the sideline. Both Chellini and I think Derossi looked at eachother as to say you get it, no you get it lol. Worse game I've seen under Prandelli.... They need to be focused to have a good showing vs brazil if not it will be embarrassing. I would play 3-5-2 and give some guys like Pirlo some rest since this game will be a glorified friendly.

This team needs more creative flair in the middle to link balotelli better, pirlo won't be enough vs superpower teams. If he's man marked we're done. Before the WC in the next few friendlies and wcq games it would be nice to see an influx of under 21 players mixed in with the current team.

This Italian team is thin on quality. A missing player in defense, midfield, or attack, and they are fucked. They don't have many options or choices. National teams are nothing compared to what they used to be in the past. Argentine are too inconsistent, Brazil experimental, England always suck, Holland are weak in defense and generally unpredictable, and Portugal always find a way to fail.

Germany may or may not be a threat for the WC next year, and it still seems as if Spain are the team to beat and have one final hurrah in them. Italy need to take some of the Azzurrini youngsters with them to the WC next year. Guys like Verratti, Insigne, and perhaps even Marrone and Gabbiadini (depending on where they end up, and what sort of season they have) could benefit the senior side.

3-5-2 definitely is the way to go with the personnel available.

Barza and Chiellini do not look convicing in a 4 man backline anymore. Why Prandelli wouldn't want that great CB trio starting every game is beyond me. Also Fagquilani and Mountoliveoil should never play for Italy again, so fucking weak and non-existent as players.

Giaccherini is a legend, he lacks so much quality but damn the guy always tries right til the end and always somehow does something decisive. Little trooper.

Agree, only advantage Italy has over most countries is their midfield. Teams like Argentina have a very shitty midfield.

Great that Gio got the winner yesterday. Really hope this helps him to come back stronger in the Summer.
