I had a similar experience, Jack. I got sick of them and I really couldn't imagine ligting a cig for 2 whole years, even bars and discos which were full of smoke bothered me. I tried to draw a smoke 2 times in those 2 years and I actually started to get dizzy from it, I thought I'm done with smoking for good. But 2 years passed, I lit one while I was drunk and it felt so damn good, been smoking for a whole year now.

Not to get you down, but never say never.

I quit when I had gastroenteritis (stomach flue), I just thought by myself, I might as well quit smoking now since I didn't smoke for 3 days during the illness and didn't miss it.
I haven't smoked since but I did gain a few pounds, especially in the beginning.
You start eating more as a replacement for the cigarette, at least, I did.

The thing is I quit for a year and a half earlier in my life and had the same experience like you. Smoking a cigarette when I was drunk after a club. It felt great and went back to the habit. I don't know why but this time feels like a different kind of thing. It is total refusal.

I got like 5,6kg when I quit. Good thing is, I was skinny so I could use them.

I am a smoker for about 5-6 years. And recently I have started to smoke just 5 cigarettes per day. Ho do I do it? Easy. I restrict my smoking to coffeee. Whenever I drink coffee or other drink with coffeine cigarette is a must for me. Otherwise, I don´t even like smoking. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth, it slows my breeding and ruins my apetite and taste of food.

Of course, like many of you said, smokimg is a must when I am drunk. But the case is I am never drunk cause I can´t stand alcohol. So, all is well. I think I will quit smoking in a few years and it will be pretty easy. It is harder to not return to smoking. It requires a strong will and personality.

It helps also when you play any kind of sport. Nicotine gums don´t help at all by the way......

    How did I stop?

It just recquires will, no patches no acqupuncture or anything of the sort.

I was at the balcony smoking a cigarette and having a tea. I had a drag and sipped a bit of tea. The tea tasted a bit bad and I know it shouldn't. I stopped and thought for a moment that the cigarette is not doing me anything except extra spending, mad smell and it simply makes me less energetic. I decided that I shouldn't do it anymore. Once one really realizes the difference between the advantages and the disadvantages the cigarette disappears.

Since I quit I tried once to smoke a ciggy. I took a drag and felt disgusted, almost puked. So you know the consequences. Now I am very sure I will not do it again.
thank u so much jack, and congrats i am glad to hear u quit this terrible habit. hopefully i can walk thru quitting it too.

You guys should visit Montana sometime. Everyone uses tobacco, even the ladies.
Ewww, one of my #1 turnoffs.

Call me sexist, but there's just something about a girl doing it that makes it so much more repulsive

Maybe because I'm not into kissing guys...

How about a girl who does dip? That is very common there.

Ahh yes, it's much nicer when they're spitting out globs of black saliva :pint:

Where's "there"? If you're talking about Australia, either you're mistaken or I'm blind to the world around me.

I had almost same expirience, before I started to smoke I really liked the smell of cigars and the smoke, but now I just can't stand it. And I hate when I come home from club and smell on cigars

Tell me about it, it drives me crazy to know my shirt/jacket smelling cigars.

i smoked cigarettes for about 5 years, when i was a chef i was always stressed and smoked about 20 a day...then one day i just decided i had had enough and quit, no patches just sheer willpower and never smoked again

till i rekindled my love affair with uncle bob's favourite hemp related product
