I'm an on-and-off cigarette smoker and I never really felt addicted to them. I don't smoke frequently or anything serious (eg. a pack per day), but I'm always down for a good cup of coffee and a Cuban. When you're almost done your coffee or espresso, dip the end of the cigar in it and light up. It's solid.

I have few questions for the current smokers....mostly the ones between the age of 16 to 22.

- Did you start smoking to look cool?

- Do you consider yourself older when you smoke?

For the smokers in general doesn't matter what age....

- Is It true If you're mad/angry not in a good mood/ in a stress and that If you smoke you'll feel better and calmer?

- When you say you want to quit, do you return back to the cig because you're addicted to it or because you got used to it??? There's a diff being addicted and getting used to something.

IMO, I don't believe those who claim that they're addicted and they can't leave it, I believe they have a weak personality and they just can't take choices.
Yes i did start smoking to look cool.I dont consider myself older when i smoke though. Not a cigarette atleast.I once tried a pipe and i felt i was 50:p.Smoking doesnt do anything for me when im under stress or angry.Hell i dont even smoke when im under stress or when im angry.I only smoke when im with my friends .I hardly ever do it when im alone. So i guess im a social smoker and not a regular one.I wont say that im addicted to it,because if i was,id be doing it regularly and regardless of wether im with my friends.

I need to stop however.Im asthematic,and my father's a heart patient.So incase the genes get clever,id be in trouble:D

Tell me about it...

All cigarette packets in Australia carry similarly disgusting deterrents, yet people still suck 'em down :yuck:

Not really, but it was that time of just hitting puberty so objectively speaking, it probably did have a role in it even though at the time I didn't see it that way.

Definetly, not. A lifetime supply of Fidel's finest couldn't make my baby-face look any older. :D

That never happened to me, smoking doesn't change my mood at all.

I was definetly used to it, I don't think I'm addicted. For example, I don't smoke when I'm at home and if I don't go out for 2,3 days I won't light a cigarette at all. I had a hiatus from smoking which lasted 2 years and I got back to it for a variety of reasons, it wasn't because I was addicted.

I think personality has jack shit to do with it, only makes the non-smokers feel great about themselves. (no offense here)

Some people like to smoke, get over it. If they say they wanna quit but can't, they're just saying it for the sake of it, everyone can quit.

    How did I stop?

It just recquires will, no patches no acqupuncture or anything of the sort.

I was at the balcony smoking a cigarette and having a tea. I had a drag and sipped a bit of tea. The tea tasted a bit bad and I know it shouldn't. I stopped and thought for a moment that the cigarette is not doing me anything except extra spending, mad smell and it simply makes me less energetic. I decided that I shouldn't do it anymore. Once one really realizes the difference between the advantages and the disadvantages the cigarette disappears.

Since I quit I tried once to smoke a ciggy. I took a drag and felt disgusted, almost puked. So you know the consequences. Now I am very sure I will not do it again.
