Diego was actually a pretty good player, if we consider his first season with us a failure then it should be due to a lot of factors besides his own skill set. That said, he was unjustly sold off by Marrotta, who in fact went against the coach's wishes in that deal as Del Neri had expressly mentioned he could use Diego in his 4411/442 formation. And I think he would've done pretty well after adapting the first season. But as they say, hindsight is 20/20.
Again, whether he was or wasn't good isn't my point. I think he's a player with more negative points than positive ones, others will think the opposite.
Fact remains that the general idea at the time was that we needed him, yet we went from finishing 2nd to finishing 7th. And no, I'm not saying it was (only) because of Diego.

I honestly don't understand what people expect. Sanchez is arguably better than our entire forward line, Vucinic included (and I say this, because Vucinic is awesome on his day, but lately he has been 80% in absentia).
Is he a top player? Probably not. Is he a very good player? Most definitely. Is he good enough for this Juventus, and will he upgrade our attack? A resounding yes.
Lloretne and Sanchez will give our forward line a massive boost. Perhaps in 3-5 years when we can afford the Agueros, Suarezes, and Falcaos of this world, things might change/be different, but for now Sanchez is as good as it gets.

Who knows man, the way our men behind the scenes are landing the Pogbas and what not for our youth, in 3-4 years we might have already found the next Cavani, Falcao, Aguero and Suarez for next to nothing. I mean, look at what we paid for Pogba and "IF" we do sell, imagine what money we will make. Who knows. All I know is, I'm optimistic as fuck about next year.

It cracks me up with some of you here who claim Sanchez isn't right for us, he's average, we should look else where. Remember last summer some of you here put all your eggs in one basket with the whole RVP thing, then once it got whittled down to just no one better everyone then changed their fickle minds and started panicking with what ever was left. Pissed myself laughing when we got Bendtner I even thought well done Marotta. Pure genius. Cos we all knew it wouldn't work but was still silently confident we'll win the scudetto again.
We're not in a financial position to be purchasing these Suarez when there is a lot of powerhouse clubs in competition with us, cos we'll never win. So turning your noses up on a possible Sanchez coup staggers me. The guy has class, will bring a different dimension to our attack yet that isn't good enough. Barcelona paid good money for a quality player in Sanchez but how could it have worked if their philosophy is to play through their blue eyed boy!?
I'd be the same cos you're not gonna get the best out of nobody that way. I'd say what's their loss is our gain. And we should sign Sanchez without any hesitation. Cos were in no position to spend huge amounts and the guy was immense in our league. He'll be amazing with us I can just see.
