:D
I don't have a moustache, but if ever there was a reason to grow one.
You know what's sad though? I actually like Caceres, as I usually like players with his qualities. But then the game starts & I keep getting reminded just how much of a liability he really is.
Off course Caceres was (a lot) worse than Chiellini. It doesn't take an expert to notice that much. The amount of times he's caught out of position, makes the wrong decision, etc is truly exceptional for a professional player. Let alone a professional playing for a club like Juve.
Almost none of...
Yeah, it's difficult to dislike him as a player, both because of the work he puts in & the obvious qualities that are easy to spot. But for us, or for the team we're hoping to be(come) anyway, he's a back up solution at best. Which he already is, so it makes sense :D
He's still the exact same player he was when he first arrived (first stint).
He'll work hard, come up with some amazing tackles & may even contribute to a goal more often than Licht (for example). But when push comes to shove, he's not reliable. Never has been and probably never will.
:tup...
Come on, you just have to appreciate the special effort he made to duck away. Considering his position, the speed with which the ball arrived, etc, it was extremely difficult to completely miss the ball, but he succeded. Personally, I was in awe.
He messed up numerous times, thankfully Parma did not capitalize on it more than once.
One can only immagine what the reactions would have been if Peluso played the exact same game yesterday. Or if Caceres had been an Italian player we had loaned with option to buy from some small(er) Italian...
If we go for the 2nd option, 7th place becomes a reality again if you ask me.
It remains to be seen how much of an upgrade Caceres is over both De Ceglie and Bonucci.
So, instead of a very good season, he had an at best average one? See, I was right all along :D
For the record though: I think sending him away was a bad idea.
