He was caught out of place, IMO not a huge mistake considering how quickly the counter attack went, but at this level even small mistakes get punished. I still think he should be first vice-Chiellini.

Nothing he could do about it, he was coming from a wide position building the attack on the left side. Making a certain red foul wasn't a wise choice, considering there were 12 minutes left on the game when it happened. No way he could made the tackle, unless he has long feet like Pogba.

how do you figure? Caceres was horrible today
He certainly wasn't at his best.. However aside from being caught on the counter (which resulted in the goal), and getting pwned at the top of the box when he didn't want to foul, he was actually not too bad today. Unlike Peluso he actually pressured and tackled, a few times Parma tried to turn him inside out on the left side and he held his ground well... Credit where it is due thnx.

Agreed, given also we are already short of manpower on the left side, a red would have been short-sighted and foolhardy. Both Caceres and Bonucci were caught out, and Caceres did a better job at making up ground than Bonny did.

You guys are harsh on him. Main reason for that big gap being back there is our D always stay wide while in possession to provide options for pass, especially when the opposition applies pressure. I love Mirko, but that goal IMO still goes back to that silly, unfortunate give-away that caught everyone off guard, otherwise you have to question everyone's positioning from our mids to Bonucci that not only filled the offside, but didn't provide any cover either. Perhaps Martin's mistake was not fouling Sansone like some already said here.

He messed up numerous times, thankfully Parma did not capitalize on it more than once.

One can only immagine what the reactions would have been if Peluso played the exact same game yesterday. Or if Caceres had been an Italian player we had loaned with option to buy from some small(er) Italian team.

If even Buffon is getting stick these days.

On the one hand it's nice seeing how ambitious the fans are, but on the other it can get frustrating how ungratful, spoiled and unatached from reality some are.
