I havent seen Ray Romano stand up routines, even if you get the point with his comic style with is rather stale and mellow. But no way is ANYONE worse then Carlos Mencia. He steals other comedians jokes, but still still is AWFUL. Unbelieveably cringeworthy.

I'm telling you, man. :D It was unbelievably difficult to find anything by Romano and once I did I knew why. :D

Yeah Mencia's idea of comedy is yelling at people and asking them repeatedly if they get his very sophisticated material.

    Im surprised no one mentioned a character from The IT Crowd.I thought people here were big fans of the show.

    You never cease to amaze me. The show is patently mediocre and occasionally funny. The story barely changes from episode to episode, it's always the same crap with Ray's parents butting in. The only thing that keeps it alive at all is the characters which aren't too bad.
    One of the unstated things that Ray Romano did that I think was subtly controversial in his show was how he treated his children. American sitcoms typically follow the feel-good, "aren't kids great" family values platitudes. In Ray's show, he not only doesn't remember the names of the kids half the time, but he often goes on pretending that they don't exist.

    Well it's like the kids are in the way actually. He plays this family man and so he needs a family to pull that off, but the kids aren't actually useful on the show, they're only needed so that Debra can't complain about how much running around she has to do.

    But what surprises me about it, even in the era of Bart Simpson, is that someone put out such "anti-children" vibes in what was supposed to be a traditional "family comedy".

    It's not Lenny Bruce. But even Roseanne Barr didn't have big enough balls to take it that far with her own show, knowing how this country has every "family value" whining club available who will boycott sponsors and shows at the drop of a hat.

    Well youtube keeps growing and there's actually a couple of Romano clips now. I don't know if this is the one I saw a few years ago, but it will do. He has nothing at all.

    He really is as charismatic as a doorknob, and I have to watch alot of Demetri Martin or something to rebound from that clip.

    But yeah, Mencia is STILL WORSE. I seen Ray in his show, and he can be situationally funny, Carlos Mencia is not only unfunny, but one of the most cringeworthy individual ever.

    Mencia doesn't cross the line into the gross-outs far too often for cheap laughs. But on the whole, the guy is pretty funny.

    I mean, that video parody of Kanye West??
    :tup: Good stuff. (Though it does go for the gross-out, as usual.)

    Kanye is a delusional asswipe in galactic scale.

    But how was that funny? The delivery is crap (can he get any more awkward and obnoxious?). Everyone gets their own shows these days. He is all about crudely generic stereotypes and awful delivery. Stereotypes that could be funny if the comedian delivering had any funny bones whatsoever.

    It could have gone somewhere if he left the singing to Aries Spears (the one singing the chorus), he can do brilliant imitations of celebs/rappers;
