Sounds like a good time for a vacation to Argentina if its going to get even cheaper. I might go to BA after Rio.

Only problem with Argentina is it is full of Argentinians though. And its incredibly difficult readjusting to Argentinian women after spending so much time with Colombians and Brazilians. Argentinians are no better or worse than bog standard Spanish or Italian, no wow factor to them whatsoever.

And the lack of black women in BA is concerning. I'd honestly put a bullet in my head if I lived in a place where I couldn't eat out a black woman at least once a week. How do people in Eastern Europe even get up in the mornings?

@Wittl

A friend of mine wants me to come on a bouldering trip to Switzerland in the spring. Magic Wood, Cresciano, Chironico.

Outside the climbing, any recommendations for places to visit and see?
Lots of places! Will write a proper answer with recommendations later this week, cause it needs some time. Okay?

How long will he stay besides his climbing time?

So basically I was screwed out of a job at my former law firm (turns out the partners squandered vast amounts of money and we were nearing bankruptcy). So normally it should have been about time I got a big raise, but instead I learnt they couldn't even afford to keep me at my old salary.

I have a job at a new law firm now, but man, life is fucking rough right now.

Our crisis is gonna be even bigger. We're facing a dictatorship.
Damn. Can't get rid of Evo, whaddya gonna do?

I wonder who's behind all this shit in South America, I'm in Argentina still and after the peronist victory today the peso will tumble even lower which could very well spell trouble here
South America seems to be having a different take on these insane transitional times than, say, Europe or SE Asia.

Sorry to hear that. At least you managed a transition. Some people might have gone down hard with the ship.

The worst part about it is that they've just about managed to survive without me. They got an intern in my place instead and while they're obviously suffering in terms of workload now, they are able to go on financially. They're going to keep squandering money of course. And I doubt that any of the lawyers will ever be paid what he or she is worth. But damn man, six years down the drain. That is one hard pill to swallow. Especially because it's a smaller firm, there were 8 lawyers. So of course after six years you develop friendships as well.

Packing my stuff to travel to Brazil with the missus tomorrow. Haven't been there in over 15 years. Never really thought about going back there all those years so not sure what to expect.

Given the political chaos at the moment and how much I disagree with and despise it's current government and the ignorance that's taken over the place I've been trying to talk myself out of going. I've never been so stressed about a trip before. :claire:

Personally. I'm staying to see what happens. Hopefully this doesn't last very long but it's surely gonna get bloody.

Coincidentally, my English girlfriend recently returned to Bolivia to live with me and all this shit broke loose. Maybe she'll let me marry her :boh:
