Its lucky that i come here often after Juventus play and read comments on here otherwise i would have been very baffled at to some of the comments made on here .
Having loads of possesion cos your opponent is playing with 8 outfield players does not mean you were the better team. I kept reading the amount of chances Italy created, what chances? Take away the goal and the only chance was Dp's effort which Keller saved and his cross which was blocked, apart from that , there was not a lot
Dp's shot was not a chance , it was a speculative effort
Given the circumstances USa was the better team as their plan worked more than Italy's did.
How is it possible that almost every competitions, Italy's squad is full of wimps
You take out Cannavaro, Zambrotta, Ddr, Gatusso and Camoranesi, the rest just seem to be pretty boys that cannot take care fo themselves onb the pitch. They are either diving about or squealing like pigs, its disgusting.
You say players with the height of Gilardino and Toni going down as soon as you breathe on them, its pathetic. Any striker that can roughen up Nesta will take him to school and thats worrying.
Apart form say maybe Japan and South Korea, Italy are probably the weakest team physically and this is a man's game , so you have to be ready for everything.
I see Cannavaro was given a high score, what for? cos he is Juve's player? he was poor and Nesta played better in this particular game as too many times he was passed.
No need to comment on the officiating, it was abysmal on both sides.
Mastroeni's challenge, for me personally , and i would like to see it implemented in all cases, deserved a red card, as it was an awful challenge. But on the other hand, in most cases , yellow cards are normally given for those .
You can understand Arena's fustrations as the referee would definitely have given yellow if Ddr had not been sent off
Too many offsides were not offsides but Toni was terrible and Gilardino, well, that was really awful
