Meh, too much beef. Even if it was a mistake, they happen. Iaquinta has been scoring a lot, he probably thought he could do something with that chance. It wasn't a good shot, but it's not as if he did something that proved he's completely clueless.

Nah, it's not about that and it's wrong thinking in such egoistic way, if that's really how Iaquinta was thinking.

The question is if Iaquinta knew at all that Trez was behind him. If Trez said "leave it for me" and Iaquinta still took the shot, then it was a big mistake, but if Trez didn't let Iaquinta know that he was behind, then it wasn't Iaquinta's mistake.
A forward has to be selfish, to a degree. If he starts thinking about passing every time he is in a scoring position, he is no longer a good forward.

I agree about the second part. All we have are what if's. Did Trez shout? Did Iaquinta hear him if he did shout? If Iaquinta had left the ball for Trez, would a defender managed to make a block? Would Trez managed to make a shot on goal? etc etc

Yeah, assists are useless.
Also, from now on I suggest Del Piero doesn't take all our penalty kicks any longer, since those chances belong the player that was fouled. Add the free kicks to for that matter.

Football is a team sport! And you know what they say: " There is no I in ...
... gang rape"
Yes buck, that's exactly what I meant by my post

One more time. If Trez shouted, Iaquinta was wrong. If not, he had every right to go for it.

Vinny Iaquinta is a fighter and a powerful striker - but his vision is questionable to put it mildly. As is Amauri's. We need to field one genius and one beast in attack not to become predictable the way we are with two beasts playing. Unfortunately we only have one genius and he is 35 years old and injured atm.

Don't forget about Giovinco!

Great point

I never liked fielding the IQ/Amauri/Trez combo. I think they are to much of the same forword type albit slightly diffarent styles.

You can see alot in matches that they move to the same areas in the box and instenctivly run to same spots to recive balls instead of providing two options .
They need to give the passer two options to choose the best one and strech the defence but insted you see alot of times that one of them just stays back to not "get in the way" of the other.

When Del Piero dosent play :)( ) , Gio should play there, Even if he is much less efective. The "lone" pure striker will preform much better IMO with another SS even if at the moment he dosent preform as he should.

Yea, we should invest in Giuseppe Rossi in the next transfer window. :mark:

i really don't see rossi wearing our stripes. i think cassano has more of a chance and desire to play for us than mr. rossi
I used to be very anit-cassano, mainly because of his attitude. But the boy has now turned into a man, i'd love to have him in our team! Diego supporting Cassano and Iaq/Trez would be orgasmic!!
