..

I'm just going to mention actors for the past two decade or so. Oh, and I'm so over Pacino and De Niro fetish.

In no specific order:

* Gael Garcia Bernal
* Christian Bale
* Michael Douglas
* Edward Norton
* Sean Penn

Who do you guys think are the best supporting actors right now, i mean we all know the best actors are the usual Al Pacino, Nicholson, De Niro etc....But who are your favourite supporting actors??

For me they have to be Christopher Walken and David Morse, both are very versatile and master almost any role they take.

    I cant really qualify an actor into a 'supporting actor' category.They've all had lead roles and supporting roles over the years.But if i had to pick one,id have to go with Walken.

    i dunno mate, in the late 70's -80's both de niro and pacino made some incredible movies with excellent performances. de niro played travis bickle,don corleone,jake lamotta and madse each role his own...to say he has no range is blasphemous

    good list though aaron,day lewis is the bomb i agree and you obviously have put some thought into this. not my top 5 but some top taleny there.
    oh and torturo was superb in o brother where art though
    De Niro was playing down on their luck Italian guys. Granted Taxi Driver is one of my favorites, as its his only film outside his comfort zone. Except that one that came out last year where he played a space pirate or something and that doesn't count.

    Yeah well definitely, but some of them have been supporting actors mostly.

    Actually you can. They are called Character Actors, like Steve Buscemi, John Tuturro and John C. Reilly. They play small rolls all their careers but some of them are the bomb.

    But a small role does not necessarily qualify as a supporting role.In Conair for example,Steve Buscemi had a small role,but the supporting characters for that movie would be John Malkovich or John Cusack.

    Yeah true, but other than the lead role all roles are supporting. The guy from No Country For Old Men was phenomenal. Anyone see that?
