This does huge damage to the domestic leagues, it either results in us being kicked out of it or if we do compete in it we are earning 15x more money than the other teams in it. We would be able to rape and pillage every other teams talent in Italy and the league would become a mini tournament of Juve-Inter-AC, there would be significantly less interesting games to watch every year.

I am not against improving the CL - I am against the elitism and arrogance of this football club believing they are entitled to earn more than other clubs. Football is a game where losers lose and winners win. We could finish bottom of that SL season in season out and still be at a significant financial advantage to all another teams in Italy.

Fans that support this can only seem to make an argument based on finances. There are no sporting reasons to support this hideous tournament. All clubs involved deserve severe sanctions
And are we the ones who want to get kicked out of the domestic league? UEFA are determined with all their might and media connections to convince people this is 'the end of football' when they're the ones threatening to ban players from international football and pressing league associations to ban the elite clubs.

UEFA and FIFA are a cancer and both have ruined football over the past few years and continue to do so. It's about time the big clubs get together and use their power.

Fewer? Good joke

We have won it 9 times in a row. Same with Bayern in Bundesliga. Lol that it’s competitive at the moment.
9 times in a row is exactly why I am pro-Super League. Even after 9 in a row and solid CL performance, Juve's behind Tottenham in the revenue charts, needs accounting tricks for financial stability. Where's the merit in that? A change is needed to break the PL hegemony. Why 6 PL clubs agreed to this though, I don't know.

That's why I sort of want to see this happen. I want the Prem completely devastated.
They're happy as long as they have nothing teams like Wolverhampton spend €200M in the market, outspending some big clubs outside England and they call that 'competition'. They dint earn any of it. They were beneficiaries of massive TV contracts. Premier League has upsetted the balance in football and one of the primary reasons we are in this situation.

These English 'pundits' absolutely disgust me.

These are the same people who furiously jerk off to the likes of Chelsea and City week in week out. We are in this predicament because leagues like premier league ALLOWED state sponsored oil companies to bankroll their football clubs and absolutely inflate the market in turn creating a disparity between them and rest of Europe.

As I said, hypocrites.
Yep, and they work for TV companies that charge 15 pounds to watch Burnley vs Brighton.

Ok here is something interesting. We know the SL is not the 1st of this kind, not even in Europe. We have the Euroleague in basketball:

Screenshot-20210419-184420-Chrome-2.jpg

Its been organized by European top basketball clubs

Screenshot-20210419-184512-Chrome-2.jpg

So same as here, european top clubs "stole" the CL from FIBA Europe, basketball equivalent of UEFA

Screenshot-20210419-184532-Chrome-2.jpg

And they organize its own CL the right way, you can qualify for it through domestic competitions, and no guaranteed spots

Screenshot-20210419-184549-Chrome-2.jpg

As oposed to Euroleague which has permanent members, so they basically ruin the sport and take all money for themselves right?

Screenshot-20210419-184859-Chrome-2.jpg

So naturally a club like Bayern (who has a basketball fraction btw) would be opposed to the Euroleague format and play the FIBA Champions league right?

Moggi's thoughts: https://www.calciotoday.it/2021/04/...fKck2csWjD6X3JR3_TtfMt73g2TOc7_bOmGiQ6Z6x49nE
A new project to which twelve clubs have already joined, including Inter, Juventus and Milan, which could mark an epochal turning point in the history of this sport. Luciano Moggi , an influential figure in the world of football for many years, has already had an idea of the main objective of those who took this initiative: " The first thing I can say is that with the Super League the meritocracy disappears , then it seems to me all a maneuver to be able to sit at a table and negotiate “.
The SuperLeague has in fact unleashed a new battle between the richest clubs, UEFA and the various European federations. Luciano Moggi raises an alarm for the future of the Italian championship: “ By proposing to play during the week, it seems clear to me that they want to eliminate four teams and organize a championship with sixteen . UEFA's stance? It is certainly tough, but these are threats that are made while waiting for a table to discuss “.

These clubs that have joined the Super League are part of what UEFA built - concludes the former Juventus manager - and if they have gained strength today, it is because UEFA has given them this strength. However, it seems to me a whole maneuver to get more money, on the other hand, a more equitable division of revenues seems important to me “.

We’ve won it 9 times in a row because we have deserved to win it 9 times in a row. The last few year it had been a really close fight. I’m convinced Lazio would have won last year without COVID and Napoli could have won a couple of years ago had they not watched our game in the hotel.

But also a major point of why it’s not been so competitive is because we earn 2-3x more than the other clubs thanks to our stadium and sponsorship. Do you think it’s going to be more competitive when we earn 10x more than the others?

Why not sporting? What interesting matches did Juve play this season? Only Barcelona in CL this season and that was where both teams would qualify, nothing at stake. And then out against Porto in March, literally nothing for Juve in CL this season.
In Serie A there was only Inter, and nothing else to look forward to. And by the time of 2nd leg the race's already over.

It will level the playing field relative to other top clubs across Europe. But it will increase the gap between the big clubs and the small ones in each country.

in other words it will bring Juve, ATM, Milan, Inter etc... closer to each other's level. But the gap between Inter and Parma, ATM and Eibar will grow substantially. The big clubs will wield much stronger financial power that they should be able to hoover up all the talents from the smaller clubs.

Yes we deserved to win it 9 times in a row because generally we were the best managed club but what is also true is FFP penalized Italian clubs further decreasing the ability of Italian teams to build stronger teams. And in typical hypocritical fashion, allowed the likes of PSG and City to go on an uncontrollable spending spree.
UEFA mismanaged this from the beginning. We happened to benefit from it in the league because we were in a healthier financial situation. FFP in hindsight was the final nail in the coffin for Serie A honestly.

This doesn't replace the EPL. They'll still make a shit ton of money from the EPL, they'll just make more money by participating in the SL instead of or in addition to the CL.

Think of all the extra exposure the SL clubs will get with millions of fans tuning in regularly to watch the SL games... how does that affect your brand's reach? how does it affect the price of your sponsorships? Reward money alone is a good case for it. But its far from the only commercial impact.
